I just got an email about these positions. Sounds good to me. I only want part-time work, so this would be right up my alley. The pay is kind of low in the beginning, but they do raise you to 8 c/l after probation. not too shabby huh???

What opinions are there here regarding this company? Good, bad or otherwise??? I saw their web site here and it sounds okay, but then you never know. Anyone currently working for this company now????

yes, very shabby. Depending on your experience, I guess. If you're a newbie, then I would say okay. Otherwise, if you're not desperate for a job, please don't take it, and I mean this in a constructive way - for our industry. Just my 2 cents. 7 cents to start is horrible! It turns my stomach to see this crap. I should consider myself very fortunate indeed and stop complaining about my pay! I hope you're able to decline it. If not, I certainly would understand hardship!

Sad indeed when anyone thinks that pay for - acute care is not too shabby. sm

I am dumbfounded as to why she is wanting more help - their work level has been low so I dont know why she is advertising for more MTs. It is very sporadic. I know someone who works there right now and is struggling badly financially because of it. So if you want to sit at your computer staring at the screen waiting for work as expected to do...

can you honestly say with your insight they have NO client contracts - in the works pending to warrant hiring?

fair question. Perhaps your workload is low as new MTs waiting for new account startups were placed on this or that account temporarily and causing a drop.

just a thought. been there, both sides, as existing MT and new hire.

A company that brings on new people and puts them on accounts while they are waiting for theirs to start, so the already establishd employees get shorted on their line count? Wow, do you think your loyal ones would stick around if they knew that?

I know someone who works here too, and the work has been extremely low since the holidays. I could see hiring someone to cover vacations, but as far as a regular worker - even p.r.n. wouldn't be worth it, the workload is very sporadic.

I tested for them on Saturday and received an email shortly thereafter asking me to contact Monday to go over what positions they have. I have debating on applying to both of these companies. Does anyone have an opinion one way or the other? Steady work, decent account with ability to make a liveable wage, and also benefits i.e. cost of insurance affordable? I know this is a lot to ask but I need to find the right fit. Confused on whether to go with MedScribe or not. They seem like really nice people, but would be a pay cut (but they pay for spaces and now not getting paid for spaces). It also seems like the work would be consistent. My biggest fears: Having to work Saturdays, but most of all, if I can meet their 1300 line a day requirement. I saw posts on here about Medscribe pay cuts and really didn't believe it until it happened to me. They lost their 2 biggest accounts, so what do you do, you cut the employees' pay who were bringing in the income. I agreed to do a STAT job that was only to be 90 min of dictation within a 24-hour period of time. When I first responded to do this job, I was told they found someone else to do it. I then recieved a phone stating that the original transcriptionist bailed on her and could I do it. Hi, I'm considering filing intermittent FMLA for chronic photophobia. Periodically I cannot look at the monitor and thus cannot work because of it. I have 8 hours PTO left and if I am out of PTO, I need FMLA to cover me taking off without pay. From reading post after post on the New MTs Board, it seems like one of the main reasons a lot of people chose the Medical Transcription field is because they were lured in by the “work at home, when you want” dream.
