Hi all,
Just wanted to say that it has been 2 weeks now since my change to an outside job (MA in family clinic) and it is really a lot easier than I thought it would be making that transition. I was worried about having to be "social" again and you know, it's really nice. The first day was a little nerve wracking, but by the end of the day it was okay. The best part? 12 paid holidays; PTO 80 hours a year plus floating holidays equals out to be about 120 hours total a year; raises; paid on time; done at 5 p.m. Mon-Fri; weekends are mine.
My MT skills come in quite handy too for entering all the pt info during check in (VS, SH, PMH, etc.) I'm so glad I did this and didn't chicken out because I was so attached to being at home all the time and starting down the path of agoraphobia. Good luck to all, staying in MT or not!
