How do you do it? I guess my legs are disproportionate or something. I can't keep the keyboard in my lap. I tried a pillow and it slid off my legs as I was typing. It is way more comfortable for me to have the keyboard in my lap since I am short and have not yet been able to find office furniture that fits me well for a reasonable price. TIA

I have my chair tipped back quite a bit and I have foot support for both feet, foot pedal on a foot rest. I also use some of that nubby shelf paper under the keyboard so it doesn't slide, and I sit with one foot in my lap (which I don't recommend, hard on the hips).

Keyboard in lap makes it easier to reach and puts your arms and hands in good position. No carpal tunnel for me after 30 years.

I sit in my reclining love seat on the right side and put the foot rest out, have my left leg on that, and my right foot on the floor for the pedal. Works good for me.

type of chair that is smaller and fits me well, (I do not use the ottoman.) I find that I need 2 pillows behind my back for support,and it moves me forward enough to keep my legs at a 90-degree angle and my feet touching the floor/foot pedal. I also do the reclining loveseat too with right foot on floor on foot pedal, left leg up. Comfy for your back. I haven't used office furniture in years.

keyboard tray (adjusts up, down, and also at any angle). I'm short too, and I just always use the lowest adjustment. Very comfortable.

I sit in a Poang chair from Ikea with a small pillow behind my lower back and a blanket draped over the back to move my upper body forward a bit more. I also use the Poang ottoman to prop up my non-foot pedal foot. I have my computer sitting in front of me on a computer stand I got from Ikea for about $25.00. In my lap I have my keyboard sitting on a Logtech Portable Lapdesk which is flat and lightweight that also has a place for the mouse. The keyboard stays completely in place on this lapdesk. I have been using this setup successfully for several years now. The only problem I have it is at times a little too comfortable and I get sleepy.

Microsoft has discontinued these great keyboards and I need a new one. I am going to be looking for a new keyboard. I see most of you seem to like the split keyboard. When I tried that at one time I couldn't get used to the 6 being on the wrong side of the keyboard (I use my right hand for it), for one thing. Hello all, I am in need of a new keyboard. I am using a Goldtouch now but the keyboard configuration does not really work for me, specifically the cntl, alt, and windows keys, as well as the home key. I hit the wrong keys frequently, too much, and it hurts my production. I do like the "touch" of it though. I would like something that feels the same, a little bit spongy but not sticky. Hello, I am using a Microsoft split keyboard that is just about worn out and would like to know what most of you are using now. After using a split keyboard I do not think I could go back to a regular keyboard. Also, I keep the keyboard slanted to the left slightly which is more comfortable for me, probably because I am left-handed, but it does make to getting to some of the keys on my right hand a little difficult. I'm trying to stockpile a 2-year supply (wishful thinking?) of Memorex TS1100 keyboards. I don't think they are being made any more, so I find them on eBay. I use them untill all the print is off the letter keys, all the plastic is gone from several of the letters leaving the metal exposed, there is a piece missing on the space bar where my right thumb goes, and then I dump them. The cheapo one I am using is really noisy and hard on my fingers. I have to pound the keys.
