NETWORK MARKETING VERSUS MT WORK - Alice
Posted: May 21, 2010
Just thought I would share an observation. Someone was talking to me about a job in sales, network marketing. The big complaint that I initially had against network marketing was based on what I had heard for many years, that it is like a pyramid setup where the guy at the top makes the most money. However, it turns out that with network marketing the guy at the top makes between 1% and 5%, where my profit on my own sales is between 25% and 50%.
In contrast, with MT work, I get less than 1%, while the guy at the top makes the most profit. So, I guess that makes MT work a big network marketing setup where the little guy, the worker bee, makes the least amount, while the guy at the top makes the most.
In this world, everything is relative, everything is point of view, and everyone's point of view is affected by that person's individual experiences. While it is good to learn from the experiences of others, let us keep an open mind to other possibilities in life, trying to not become biased based on the opinions of others.
From where I am at this point in time, the network marketing opportunity is looking real good. All I have to do now is find customers and be at my computer 10+ hours per day (which will not be a big adjustment from what I'm doing now.)
There are a lot of network marketing opportunities in the marketplace, just do a search for "network marketing" on any search engine. I say, what do I have to lose?
The reality is that the people at the top DO make the money. - SM

Don't buy into the pitch you've been given without checking it out in much more depth. Search online for the experiences of others who've been involved in that network marketing scheme.
The people who get into a network marketing company early are always the ones who make the most money, as others who come after them are part of their "downline." Yes, they may only get 1%, but multiply that by the hundreds (or thousands) of distributors under them and they are, indeed, the ones making big bucks.
The only way to really be successful in a network marketing scheme is by recruiting. Selling product is secondary, and not where the money comes from. If the network marketing company has been in business for a long time you'll have a big "upline" and have to try to build your own downline, which gets harder and harder the longer a company has been around and the further you are down the pyramid.
Seriously ... beware. Most people lose money when they venture into network marketing or, at best, break even and make little or nothing.
The products, though they may be quality, are nearly always drastically overpriced and thus hard to sell, even if you have natural sales talent, which most people don't.
I can't advise strongly enough that you venture into this VERY cautiously.

I hear what you are saying, but when compared to the MT market, this network marketing thing looks quite good. An average sale is $200.00, the profit starts at $50. Maybe the people at the very top make a lot of profit due to having a large downline, but I guess that's the way it is in all businesses, including MT, only they don't refer to us as their downline, just other terminology.
All I can tell you is I've gone the network marketing route myself-- - SM

--a couple of times over the years, and my experience -- and that of others I've spoken to -- is that the pitch you're given is mostly hype.
Good luck if you decide to take a chance, but, again, I'd seriously recommend that you research this "opportunity" a great deal more before tossing your money away. Talk to people who aren't currently involved, as that's the only way you'll stand a chance to get an honest appraisal; everyone still in the scheme has a vested interest.
Lastly, don't invest any more money than you could afford to toss away in the trash, as you'll likely not see a return on it, but at least that way you won't be hurting.
Thank you - Alice

I will follow your advice. I only intend on spending about $100 to get started, which includes samples to use for myself. I'm not interested in building a downline, even though that's where they say all the money is. I just will be interested in retail profit.
I did try another network marketing company years ago that sold cosmetics, but cosmetics were not really my thing. I'm more interested in nutrition. My motto is "nutrition or prescription."
So, the most I will lose is $100.00 and the paper and ink it takes for me to make my own handouts.

Global Marketing Specialist Group Aug 21, 2010Please beware of this company. They are literally preying on medical transcriptionists who are having a difficult time finding and keeping a good job (which I think is happening more and more to people who have been doing this for a long time). Anyway, I received an e-mail from them after 9:00 p.m. this evening, a phone call from them (which I didn't answer) and then an e-mail following the phone call. So we have blocked them. They want a fee from MTs, and they will ...

They are trying to post more ads using alternative e-mail addresses such as gmsgtranscription@. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. They are not being up front with you and are simply trying to make money from you. You should NEVER pay to work ...

A+ Network Transcription Jul 10, 2013Is this a legitimate company? Have sent my resume, but have not heard, also their website isn't working. I actually live in the next town so could easily drive by and check it out, but I am not that desperate.
It just really really irks me that on many occasions over the past few years when I have responded to a job opening, I either NEVER hear back or am sent a canned "take this test" e-mail and when I do and pass, I stll never hear.

End Point Versus Endpoint And Hand Grip Versus Handgrip Mar 13, 2012Two words that come up often for questioning. These are strictly used in an orthopedic setting. VR Versus SR Feb 20, 2010I am not familiar with VR and have never used it, but I understand that there is a difference between voice recognition (VR) and speech recognition (SR). I am told the difference is that with VR the program has to be trained because it goes by voice only, sort of like us getting used to different dictators when we start a new account.
SR is supposedly different in that it goes by speech alone, meaning I guess, just the actual words dictated and is not affected by voice differences.
