But I guess some, like my DS, thrive on the drama of poor me, I can do nothing to help myself, please feel sorry for me. And others, like me, hate drama, hate being treated bad, and refuse to stand by and let it continue. I will not let a MTSO rule my life to the point of draining my bank account, monopolizing my time and stomping on my self esteem. Why would I stay in a situation like that? Why do others? Go ahead and flame me, those flames are just letters on a message board. And I am ready for the onslaught of posts giving all the usual excuses why some seemingly HAVE to be vicitims. But only you can change your future and if you think it is too much trouble to do that, then I guess you get what you secretly seem to want.

at MQ 3-4 years ago, I ended up losing almost $600 a month. I then started looking for another job and got out. The first one I took was not a great fit, but continued with that until I found a job that, while not perfect, is 100% better than the Q. We are paid on incentive, only have 3 accounts so can actually learn the doctors. After 3 years of straight typing we are going to start transitioning some accounts to VR, but with constant support from the mgmt team. We are currently training on the new system, being compensated for the "low" production for the first 2 weeks of learning. While this job is not perfect, I believe it is about as close as one gets.

No--I will not give name, they are not hiring and have requested we not. It is not a place that many people leave and I was extremely fortunate to be hired.

There are decent jobs still left, you just have to quit complaining and look for them.

This board is sometimes so disheartening. All of you new MTs, we are graduating from reputable schools, we are getting jobs and it is no different from any other occupation. I really seriously cannot stand when the work volumes are low, having to bounce around from account to account, in and out of our own BOB. It is hard enough trying to juggle the multiple number of accounts and all of their demands in the profiles, but having to go into another BOB is just plain ridiculous. Has there ever been a union for transcriptionists? I have never heard of one, but have often wondered if that would be beneficial. I mean if the people want it..why not. But I don't reallly know about how these unions and things work. So, now if we have to go to the bathroom or some other thing that pulls away from the computer, we dont clock out otherwise we will be locked out for the shift? Seriously how do you mark me for not putting a comma in when I have a QA marker preceeding it..Obviously I missed a word, the dictator rots, sorry..So instead of adding all that extra crap in..If you had just stuck to what I put, I may have learned something..Instead, my mind is going in 90 directions and I marked it as read and moved on..Waste of my time. I have never been able to run much above 150 lph average doing VR for my company. It is so horrid, I can usually type it quicker. I cannot even imagine how anybody is doing 400-500 lph average. Just pulling in the jobs, listening through patient information, filling in date of service, consulting physicians and such, fixing the ASR dictation and uploading the job -- there is no way on this earth it will ever happen at my company.
