Info on Freedom Type - iatypingmom

Posted: Jan 15, 2014

I would like to get into doing transcription from home and am looking for MT companies in the Midwest. I came across this company called Freedom Type. Has anyone worked there, currently or past?  How do they treat you? Is it a reputable company? Do you know of other Midwest companies that may be hiring for part-time work? Thanks!

Experienced? Certified? - jm

Is she still in business? I think her name was Debbie. She was pretty cool to work for. Decent pay (.08). Flexible. I did not know she was still around. I hope she is doing well. I got out of the MT business for a little while after leaving Freedom. The economy crash of 2008 let me to return to this wonderful profession! :)

I thought she had gone out of business, too - SAM

It would be nice if she were still in operation. Isn't she the MT that used to post here and started her own small MTSO doing all straight typing, hiring only US MTs, and vowed never to offshore? Seems it was a few years back, if I recall correctly.

I did work there very briefly - me

Platform was clunky back then - nice gal running it though, pay 8 cpl but I didn't think I could really make any $$ based on the platform - and the rates elsewhere were much higher then, so I went elsewhere. Funny, I was just thinking about her the other day, glad she is still around and hopefully doing well.

Keystrokes, Diskriter Or Freedom Type, Any Info?
Dec 22, 2009

Need info on Freedom Type, Keystrokes or Diskriter.  I live in Okla and worked for a local service until recently. They downsized and cut the transcription dept. I now have a job with Medquist but can't get any work through them. Like most, I need a paycheck, not just a job title. I'm looking for a good company to work for who is honest and provides a work load that is not constantly running out. I've seen some good reviews on these 3 companies but any current info or opinion ...

FREEDOM!!

I am SOOOO happy to report that I am no longer employed by M. Modal.  I cannot say how much of a relief it is to not be held hostage by this joke of a company.  Sitting around all day, waiting for work is for the birds....and then being asked by my CCM to "make up hours" on the weekend or evenings...um, yeah, no...there's a reason for the option of "release from work without pay."  If you don't want us to have that option, don't give it to us.  I was hired to w ...

If You Can't Get Course Info Without Leaving Info So They Can Call/spam You
Sep 12, 2012

It isn't easy to get off some of the spam and phone call lists when you click for more information about some of these courses. I've found that for me, it isn't worth it to get that information if I am giving up my privacy. Some of these people are relentless! You can't get away from them once they get your information. There is one in particular that makes sure you hear from them every day in one form or another. They become your best friend, even if you weren't lookin ...
