Doctor says "we will punt him over to Dr. So and So." Would you type "punt," leave blank, or replace this with "send," "refer," or something more appropriate? This doctor is always saying odd things...LOL.

I would type it just like he says it. - passing right on through

Maybe when the doctor reads it he will realize how ridiculous it sounds and change how he dictates.

I had a vascular surgeon say the other day.... "we are going to go ahead and lop off that toe."

So much more interesting than 'amputate,' and everyone reading knows exactly what he means.

It is not the MTs job to change something because "we" think it sounds better another way.
