I feel cheated - Fed Up

I'm on a huge account with a huge company (the one that is taking over the planet right now). Most of the time I get editing and I have to really scramble to make enough, because of course they pay less than half what I used to get for straight transcription.

But this morning I got lucky and pulled up a discharge that was straight transcription that was 21 minutes long. I finished the whole thing and tried to upload it. EditScript gave me a message that it was not uploaded because the job was not assigned to me. So I don't get paid for it.

I could make more money cleaning toilets in a motel.

Better yet, I could make more money by buying stock in this company and getting dividends from all the profits they are making on the backs of the MTs.

I would demand that they pay you for lines typed. NOt your fault if it was not assigned to you, it was routed to you.

Give as much info as you can to your manager/lead. If it came to you, you should get paid.

I made a fuss and the supervisor on call said she reassigned the job because it had been in my queue for a long time. It was freaking 22 minutes long. You can only speed it up so much before you can't understand what the doc is saying anymore.

For what it is worth, Medquist is owned by Medquist Holdings (Listed on NASDAQ as MEDH) C-Bay is the primary share holder of Medquist Holdings owning about 70%. My initial remark was really meant as a wry throw-away comment, that's all.

NUAN (Nuance communications) is also traded on the NASDAQ. Comparing the two profiles, I would hazard a guess that MEDH is probably a better buy, if you were so inclined. But I'm no expert so DO NOT take my advice ever, I could be absolutely 100% wrong. In any case, on general principle, I'm not buying either one of them because I wish them both out of business.

Had an appt with my doctor; she was slowly typing as we talked. I asked her how she liked typing her own records. She said she hates it but has no choice as it is required now. Apparently some companies are telling the hospitals that EMR is required by law. That isn't exactly true, and the companies (such as MQ) do a lot of fibbing and twisting of the truth.
