Ever feel like they just want you to fail? - mom2huskies

It just seems like we cannot win with this company. Between the 5% QA, bottom of the barrel dictators, and unrealistic expectations I just want to pull my hair out.

I never feel that way. Everything is changing all around us. Industries and corporations run this country and their bottom line is keeping their stockholders rolling in the dough, regardless of who they crush beneath the stones while building their empires.
I wish that more Americans would educate themselves on who really runs this country, and if you are deluding yourself into thinking that it's the government, well SURPRISE! It's not.
Remember the youth of the 60s and 70s? They (we) weren't afraid to protest, strike, speak up and defend ourselves when a wrong was being done! What has happened to us? Have we become so desensitived to the suffering of others that we really don't care and prefer to turn the other cheek?
Pharmeceutical companies, retail corporation monsters, food industries (not farmers).... on and on, automobile companies are running our country!!! Come on folks!
So, no, I don't feel like I'm being set up to fail. I have faith in my knowledge and my skills. What I am becoming however, is obsolete. I can't compete with the machines and robots that are soon coming to take over. They, afterall don't have families to feed and will work for screws and bolts!
You keep your head up gal! We ARE experts, many of us have YEARS of experience and can show the newbies the ropes (if we were allowed), but none of this is OUR fault.
We're faceless victims.
Industry and Corporations? - Adios

Agree with both posters. We are set up to fail, whether that was the conscious plan or not. No matter our expertise, doesn't factor in anymore.
Corporate greed is part of it, but more scary is the influence of the world outside the U.S. boarders and their attitude toward the work force. That is where the real fear lies.
I am looking for an American owned and run company to work for.
Yes we all need to stand up and make noise. We can start by going back to the good old American values of buying American, even if it means doing without some things. That is the only action that is going to have any effect. We can yell and protest all day long. We have to hit them where it counts.
Who's with me? No more China-made products just because they are cheap. No more Indian-owned companies who treat their employees like crap.
I do not blame our Indian coworkers for 1 minute. They may get religious holidays off but that does not make up for all the injustice they live with on a daily basis. We are rich compared to them.
There is no respect for the workers anymore. NO RESPECT. And MQ is high on that list.
MQ used to be American - Nothing Sacred

Whether Americans or Indians do the work, it just doesn't matter to the stockholders. This is just one of the industries that is cheaper to do overseas. Whether or not quality is there doesn't matter. Transcription isn't the only industry it's happening to, but the reins of where the work gets done is in the hands of all corporate business owners. There's nothing sacred anymore. You wanna go work for another American company? Get references and a promise in writing from the corporate owner that he will never sell overseas. Otherwise, you'll end up back in the pocket of MQ or another corporate owner who reaps the monetary rewards for selling out to a foreign country.
I sometimes dream of a world with no stock market - at all. It would be nice....... nm

I also believe that MQ takes advantage of their workforce in India just like they do here.
You are certainly right when you state that MQ is high on the list as far as corporate greed.

That's what they do at the Q. Make you feel so worthless and incompetent, that when they cut your pay, you'll feel it's justified and be grateful to have a job at all.
Brilliant plan, I must say! Yes, they want all MTs to - fail so they will have no one working for them.
What they DO want are MTs who do the work they agreed to do. They want the best MTs. They want MTs who accept feedback and put it to good use. They want MTs who can do what they say they can.
You are a hoot, though.
re: hoot - does not play nice
[ In Reply To ..]
Of course there are a small majority in the corporation that want that, but it isn't the majority of them! The majority of stockholders don't want MT's who agreed to do their best! they want those who will work for peanuts, hence the implementation of off-shoring!
Feedback is one thing, constructive criticism is what we used to call it, but I have never, ever heard of a company, store, office etc, that will CUT YOUR PAY if your having a bit of a rough time struggling to learn the 50 new accounts they throw at you in a day! COME ON! Ride you high horse if you must, but don't delude yourself into thinking your the exception.
Surely you cannot be so monumentally naive that you believe that if your good enough you'll be indispensable to them?
I just cannot seem to get my line count up no matter what I do. I have an account that I am doing for the UK and it is a struggle. Being bounced around to a new BOB every 2 months or less does not help. I have got my second warning about my line count, never had this problem before. Oh well, maybe getting fired is not such a bad thing though. ...
First, I was warned about low line count during a period of many MQ computer problems (finally got new one and now resolved), then audited during that same time period after being warned about line count, which I passed at 99.89%. Then 2 weeks later I start getting a work type I had never done before, like every other job, completely new terms and docs, which normally I do not mind learning new things, but now with the more-than-5%-sent-to-QA nonsense I do not feel comfortable sending blanks to ...

As I mentioned earlier I keep getting badgered, first for dropping percentage on FIESA, then for production. One of the things that bothers me, lately I keep getting more and more of those same dictators that I make the most mistakes on. It's almost like they want me to fail? Is that paranoia or just the elephant in the room trying to sit on me and no one notices? I am on an enormous account. I realize they can narrow work down to some degree but with literally 100s of clinics on this ...
I beileve it's when the company advertising closes the hiring process but doesn't let us know. For fun, I just went to an older ad and went through the testing process. I KNOW I aced it, but it told me I didn't have the skills necessary. I also KNOW that the job hiring process was closed, but did it just as an experiment.
So those of you who are so hard on yourselves, don't be. I truly now think it's because the company has closed the hiring proc ...
Last year I failed an audit, barely and was out on 100% QA for 6 weeks after 1 email from TSM and no responses afterwards until suddenly I was off and back to regular work. Later I was transferred to another TSM. Wednesday I got an email that after multiple complaints from a specific doctor, all his reports were 100% QA and my report had failed the audit (barely). Nothing from TSM yet, but I am off Sunday and Monday. I wish I could quit so bad, but can't afford it. If I get fired and apply ...
Does anyone have a clue about the pass/fail that is in Fiesa today? Just noticed mine and I suppose it has something to do with the changes rolling out but I couldn't remember if we had received anything about it or not. Thanks! ...
I know that the tests given by MTSOs are from mttest.com and that they are pass/fail tests. Does anyone know what the passing percentage is? One strike, you're out? How does this work?
Thanks. ...
Here is a link to the pass/fail rates for AHIMA certification exams.
http://www.ahima.org/certification/documents/2007_2009_CertificationExamPassRates.pdf
Please note that even AHIMA itself recommends a minimum of 3 years of hospital coding experience before attempting the CCS exam, and they have good reason for doing so. The test is very challenging. Yes, people may pass without that experience, but most will not. This is not an inexpensive exam, either. The fig ...
Please. What a crock. 20+ years experience, and I'm referred to a matchbook school.
mttest can suck it. If that's what WordMed.Biz trusts to screen potential employees, then I don't think I'd trust them as an employer.
and their red-hot screaming wage of .07 CPL. Yeah... ...
I took the Medquist test again today, but I don't expect the perfection they seem to demand. I actually got an RLP (real live person) at Medquist to speak to me about testing 2 weeks ago. She was a little help. She said they have 1,000 take the test monthly so no wonder they are not interested in any particular transcriptionist. I suspect, though, that only 20/1000 pass it. I actually worked for Mx for 7 years part-time, and I love their platform.

I admit I made a mistake. I forgot to add a cc. Never mind that all the other jobs that were audited were 100%. I am only human but Mmodal does not care. ...
I had 2 jobs that were both 100 and then I had a failed job on some account that I have never typed on before ~ foreign doctor. The errors were marked as noncritical errors. How can they expect us to be able to type 100 different accounts with perfect quality? I remember this report that I "failed." There were no samples to go by. I guess I will be getting an email from my supervisor shortly about failing a job and making me feel ...
Is Transtech one of those companies that doesn't bother to contact you if you fail their test? Or do they eventually let you know one way or the other? It has been a couple of weeks since I have tested and haven't heard a peep. ...
Contracts are renegotiated regularly, so even if you were on an account that did not permit offshoring at any point in the past, you will sign in one day and discover WTs missing that you used to type and can watch whole blocks of reports disappear from your queue.
Nuance's survival depends upon this, and they don't care diddly squat about yours.
So, dream on...and on...and on about line rates, bonuses being easier to get because of less nitpicking, etc., it isn't going to ...
I was just looking at the Word Help board - I can't imagine working at home by myself, having no one to ask for help. When I first started, you could turn to the person next to you and get some help. They've really been thrown to the wolves. Good luck, all!! ...
as the poster below. I think the lag in our computers now with the 6.1 is either because the ILPs are "observing" while we are typing or there is a spyware included to watch our keystrokes and screens. Getting paranoid. ...
Today is payday. Never knowing what it will be until I check my bank account, I get this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach while logging on to my bank's website. It's sort of like butterflies, but not as pleasant a feeling! This morning, I took a look at the last five deposits. Most are within 20 or 30 dollars, but they all are getting progressively smaller, smaller, smaller. Compared to two years ago, it's literally half of what I was making. Egads! Soon I will be p ...
I know a lot of you work for companies right now that do not have enough work and I can truly empathize with you, have been in that boat as well. But the company I work for begs us to do overtime every single solitary weekend, aka Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I have been in this field for almost 30 years and quite honestly I am burnt out. I put in my 40 hours a week and feel the rest of my life is my time. I have neck problems and back problems as well, but still manage to do my best and am also ...
Who are actually listening and believing this BS that WMJ is spewing out. She or he does NOT have your best interest at heart. If you choose to do the sick out I can guarantee that you will not have a job when you try to log back in on the 2nd. We work in an at will employment job. They can lock you out and not even give you a reason for letting you go. We do not have a union which would protect you in a strike situation though I for one still would not want to be in a union because they ar ...
The so called random dictation is designed to slow you down, makes me mad when I just want to get the work done without constanting stopping and starting, rearranging the formats, etc. ...
a note and say, "Hey, the reason you have having to s-p-e-l-l these simple words now is because your chart notes are being done in India."
All part of the plot to push for off-shoring the work because there are "so few qualified US MTs." ...
they'd be too old to start at the bottom and no one will hire them, consider getting your real estate license.
