I have gotten to where if I apply for a job and it refers me right over to the testing process, I don't even take the test, I just back out of the application and don't bother. I know I lose jobs, due to this, but that process is too irritating to me. If I apply for a job and I receive a reply stating that they are interested in me and would like for me to test, THEN I don't mind testing. I just cannot see randomly taking a test, typing 7 or 8 reports these days and then maybe 100 people applied for one position and I never even hear back from them.
I don't understand, because if you are applying for an acute position, and you have 15 years of VERIFIABLE acute experience, then what is the point of testing? Why not call your references or previous jobs or whatever? I could understand if they were considering hiring for a different area that the MT wasn't very experienced in, but then they probably wouldn't hire that MT anyway, they would find one experienced. It is crazy how they REQUIRE so much experience, but then make you take their tests and waste time more often than not. In the "real world" employers don't make people test to check their skills, they consider work experience and the 90-day probation period. I really wish they would cut this out.
