I was just hired by Nuance and have received hiring paper work. Looks like I will not even start working until maybe end of April. It seems that everything here takes forever. But at least we have a job here, for whatever it is worth.

So what if you are really depending on this income to pay your bills? Then what??? I guess these big companies are not too worried about that huh???

On my accounts, there is no work, so first wondering why they are hiring and two, wonder what you are going to do with no work. Good luck, but this big company is not so great.

try asking for secondaries as some accounts are DROWNING... - sm

also for the hiring process you can speed things along by getting your paperwork in quickly...once received the rest of the process goes quickly and at least they PAY for training...a lot of companies do not.

The HR lady that was emailing me and telling me what to send in had no clue as to what she needed. At first she didn't need the notary to stamp the form and then she did. At first she didn't need a copy of my DL and SS card, but then she did. Then, she needed something else added to the notary box. That was going to be three trips to the notary. No thanks.

At that rate it was going to take weeks to finally start working. Who has that amount of time to wait? Not me..

Plus HR didn't have a clue about the I-9 form and what needed notarized and what didn't. It was going on 2 weeks and I didn't even have a date set up for installation. I found another job in the meantime...

hired you for? The end of April is 3 weeks away, you could be on your second pay check by then.

I'm not sure why they would ask you to wait unless they are waiting for the new very large account that is coming on board to go live. When I applied in October 2009, I was called the day after I submitted my test and hired that week. In the last 2 years, I've been promoted twice where at my last job at a local clinic, after 8 1/2 years, same position with no room for advancement. I know NTS needs help BAD and we have just hired a ton of people, so the only reason I can think of for the delay is waiting for the new account to go live. Otherwise, I have enjoyed working for this company very much. There are a lot of ESLs, but no worse than when I worked at Mayo or the local clinic here.

GD SOB! Have been passing all the audits with flying colors (99% or better), even the audit earlier this week. but then I got an email today of a report with critical errors. I have gotten to where if I apply for a job and it refers me right over to the testing process, I don't even take the test, I just back out of the application and don't bother. I know I lose jobs, due to this, but that process is too irritating to me. If I apply for a job and I receive a reply stating that they are interested in me and would like for me to test, THEN I don't mind testing. So I graduated in February and began the job hunt. Finally I receive one call back from a local company. To date I have attended two seperate interviews. Hi, I'm a former Acute Care Transcriptionist who has 12 years hospital, 2 years clinical experience including not cherry-picking and found out years later that their most experienced transcriptionist refused to do an account I was put on due to the ESL ratio.
