Patient First Transcription - finished the application process - maremac
Posted: Aug 29, 2013
Does anyone know how long it might take to hear back from Patient First regarding my application and typing test? I tested last week, haven't heard back and there is no way to follow up with anyone directly. When I log on to the career site, it just says that I have nothing further to do as I have already finished the application process.

Not even getting into this conversation again! They run ads, receive hundreds of resumes, pick and choose, maybe call back, maybe not, and then run another ad. The question is, what happened to all those resumes you got-don't seem interested in those anymore. I applied a few months ago with over 25 years and CMT-nothin! Now another ad and no call still-
Final word on the subject- just weird!
Right, we've all been through then...see previous posts. :( - anon2

They are a terrible company. You will, if even called, invest as I did a year of your life into learning all of their ridiculous shortcuts for every other word..while decreasing your lines (paid production)...be constantly told you are still doing something wrong...and end up quitting out of frustration, with horrible English/grammar/transcription habits. Wish anyone the best of luck who attempts this, I would not bother though. Wish I could take it all back. :(

I was on their web site this morning and saw 2 job listings; one for an MT that has been there since June and a new one for a lead MT. I've read good and not so good about them. Three months is a long time to let a position go unfilled, though, especially with the number of people looking for work right now. I hope you hear something soon, and I hope you get the job if it is what you want.

them maybe 6 months ago and never heard a word, but then again I had to leave a ton of blanks in one of the reports, so maybe I'm just not good enough. My thought was that if that any indication of the dictation I'd have to do daily, maybe God was looking out for me when they didn't contact me. However, I had heard good things about pay and benefits, so who knows? Good luck.
PF test was ridiculous and not a fair play. They - nothanks

obviously, or at least hopefully, picked their worst dictators and put them on that test. I too have 25+ years and had to leave several blanks, especially in 1 of the reports, but no human could have heard that garble. I think they did it on purpose to see if people would guess or leave a blank. It certainly wasn't to judge knowledge. THAT tells me a lot about them!
By the way, they have 4 ads on Monster-Hmmmm...

I took the test too, and had to leave blanks. I never guess on those things.. I have applied to 4 different jobs in the last 2 weeks and have heard nothing regarding my applications and/or testing. What a waste of time. The favor of a simple reply would be nice. I'm documenting all these companies who are too rude to acknowledge my response to their ads.

So, do you know how we create our shortcuts so that WE can make extra money? This company has MANY, MANY, MANY shortcuts that they have you create and they only pay you for the key strikes it takes for the short cuts, make sense? You will spend a majority of the first 6 months there learning these shortcuts while they are really just causing your pay to be cut. Not very good.

Do you work there or are you another speculator who thinks they know the particular ways of PF? Why do you think they don't pay you for the entire expanded phrase? I work there, and my pay and line count equals the Word line count on my document, which includes the entire expanded phrase.

Are you a current employee? If so, how long did it take after you took the test before you heard anything?
Heard back...still lol - maremac

I heard from a recruiter and they said that I did not pass the test and they recommended that I get 6 MORE months experience in FAMILY MEDICINE and I could re-try in 6 months. REALLY???? I have over 25 years experience combined in clinic and acute care and I need 6 more months in FAMILY MEDICINE???? HAHAHAHA, what a joke.
Frustrated Patient First Tester - MT19

I would really like to know what their criteria is for an MT. The practicum portion of the test is awful. There are maybe one or two decent dictators; the rest are difficult to near impossible to understand. Seriously - are they looking for perfection or what?

Patient First MTs - What Was Your Hiring Process Like? Jul 22, 2013I completed the application process and the online testing about 4 weeks ago and, while the transcription test was very challenging, I felt I did well. I know there's probably no point in sending an email to ask about the "status" of my application and test because they are quite capable of contacting me if they wanted to. Do they bother to contact applicants that didn't pass the test? (an email I'd hate to get, but at least there would be closure)

US Transcription Application Mar 23, 2010I'm just wondering if anyone can answer this for me. I know it sounds like a really ditzy question but...here goes. Does anyone know if you have to do more than one? It didn't specify. ...

Patient First Transcription Dec 02, 2013Warning for MTs interested in Patient First Transcription. Beware... This is a very difficult company to work for. First, the platform is extremely difficult as it is working in DOS. Second, the management team is extremely critical and not employee friendly. They do not give constructive feedback, again, very critical, even during training period. Hours are in dispute constantly. In short, really think about working on a DOS-based system (lines decrea ...

Patient First Transcription - Have Some Questions Jun 22, 2013I am looking into this company and have some questions. This seems to be a direct for provider job, which I would prefer is this correct? I am nervous having been burned by MTSOs before so I am hesitant to apply at bigger companies. ...

Just Finished The 6.1 Training, What-the? Sep 07, 2010Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't help think that the training person on those videos is trying to sell used cars. The tone of her voice sounds so fake - and some of those incredible words she used, like "streamlining" or describing this exceptionally wonderful program (not her words, but something like it). It was my impression that she got the job to train us 3000 MTs because of her salesman-like attitude, not teaching expertise. She fumbled around, not very profes ...

Just Finished MT Training Aug 30, 2011I am an LPN who is currently taking classes to become an RN. I just finished my final in my MT course that I took online through US Career Institute. I stumbled upon this site when researching for an at home job for MT's. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what is the best company to work from home for. ...

I Just Can't Believe That I Just Finished An 8-1/2 Hour Mar 29, 2013$66.03. I worked my BUTT off tonight for $8.25 an hour. Back in the day, those 1400 lines would have grossed at LEAST $116 for the day, AND, I wouldn't have worked 1/4 as hard then as I did tonight for that measly 66 bucks. Doctors and lawyers are paid for the education over and over and over again. WHY is it so different for MTs? Twenty-two years of this and I can't believe I'm reduced to this. Wow...... ...

Finished My First Week At My New Job And I Love It! Nov 08, 2009Well, I started my new job as an office assistant and I love it. It was nice to know that when I got home, I was done for the day. I did not have to work into the night and worry about making my lines. On Friday, we had absolutely no patients scheduled and no doctors were in the clinic and I still got paid. If I had been doing transcription, I would have been without pay for the entire weekend and would have had to compete with everyone else on my account on Monday to try ...

I just completed the Inscribe test. It took me a solid 6 hours today, plus an extra hour or two the other night.

Just Finished Testing With Softscript Mar 16, 2012I just finished testing with Softscript. Whew that was kind of hard -- much different than what the other companies have you do. This is so agonizing at times!!!! ...

I get 15 days off this year paid vacation, which will go up to 18 hours next year. Sure, it was a lot of work to get here, but it was much easier on me than the other students bec ...
