Any master abbreviation list? - Cheesey

Posted: Sep 04, 2011

Ok, I notice people use a lot of abbreviations when they talk on here. Is there a list stating what the abbreviations are?

Stuff like MT, RN, QA, VR, MTSO, RMT, CMT, etc.

Yes, I'm a newb! I know some of the ones in my examples, but seriously, all of these abbreviations are driving me nuts!

You will get used to abbreviations as you go along.

However, some are very obvious like

MT===== Medical transcriptionist
RN ==== Registered nurse.
VR === Voice Recognition.
MTSO === MT company too big for their britches.
CMT --- Certified medical transcriptionist.

A good abbreviation book however for every MT to get a hold is the medical one titled

“Medical Abbreviations” By Neil M. Davis.

Short Cut For List Punctuation In A Drug List? (Fluency)
Dec 06, 2014

Is there is quick way to add commas between items in a list? Of course, using Ctl K in front a word will change the punctuation, but it will also change a capitalized drug to lower case, and you will still have to get to the beginning of the next drug which will require 2 Ctl arrows and backspace. Ctl arrow takes you to the beginning of the next word, but you will have to backspace to put in the comma. Adding punctuation to lists is so time consuming! ...
