I studied ALL WEEKEND and I think I am getting it. It seems the more that you code the more that you understand. I am excited about this class. I have been a medical transcriptionist for many, many years and I want something different for a change. Transcribing is getting old!

[ In Reply To ..]I am finding that I really love learning about coding. It is like working on a puzzle at times. I am also finding parts of school to be more of a challenge than I had expected! I think my main issue right now is time management. Between doing MT work full time, being a mom, and going to school for coding, I worry sometimes about being able to keep up with it all! I just keep telling myself I can do anything for a year, and it will all be worth it. The fact that the subject matter is interesting to me does really help, too.

[ In Reply To ..]I find it interesting. I have gone for weeks without studying in fear I wont get it (I know that sounds crazy, but I do that) and then when I sit down with it, it is not as hard as I thought it would be and then I waisted all of that time! LOL anyway good luck.

Why not go there and see if that helps and then come back here and let us know?
The thing is that "confusion as to sequencing E and V codes" is vague. We don't know what you are asking.
What specific problem are you having? What specific example did you have trouble with?
Is it knowing when to put a V code first on an encounter? The instructions are in the coding guidelines, which are in your code book. E codes can never go first. If it's anything else, it might be that you're seeing something sequenced one way in the answer key and mistakenly thinking that's the only way to do it.
Again, below I gave you suggestions and questions to answer, with places to look for the rules that guide sequencing. If you'd like help, please go there to see what I said.
Figuring this out is, for the most part, within your ability and it is also something that you need to learn how to do as a coder, because your job is going to require it.

Anyone Who Took CareerStep Class

A friend of mine is taking the CareerStep class for MT (although I tried to talk her out of it). Anyway she is in the transcription part, and using the disks that were supplied with the course. How did you listen to and transcribe from this. She put the disk in the disk drive of her computer, but there is no way to start/stop the dictation, etc. and I believe it would be very frustrating. Or are we both missing something? Did you use expresscribe or something and do ...

I am taking a coding and billing course on-line and I am almost finished, but I am having trouble. I just do not get it. I code and then find out it should have been a different code. I start in the alphabetical index and then check the tabular index, but there is also the E and V and everything. I have a hard time with the order of things. If anyone can help this poor soul it would be great. :-) ...

Wondering how/if all of us who work for MModal can start a class action lawsuit against them? What for you ask?
