"1 spray each nose daily." Wonder how many people with more than 1 nose this doc has seen? Do you leave it as is or change it to something less stupid?
If it were any other company, I would say change it - but for the Q... better leave it

You could fail and audit for change that for sure.
I know first hand!
To the right nose or to the left nose? - Hahahahaha

For MT, "recognition" knowledge of med terms and anatomy is required. It isn't usually necessary to DO anything with that knowledge. In other words, the MT doesn't have to make decisions based on the knowledge.
Coding requires that you use the knowledge. Here are some situations that come up for coders in general. Can you answer these without looking anything up?
A particular colonoscopy code can only be used if the scope reaches a p ...
This doctor is doing an eye exam and he says..."The conjunctiva is quiet. The cornea is clear. The (s/l inputrum) is deep with rare cells. The intraocular lense is well centered." What can he be saying? ...
I don't know if I should be asking this on the main board - let me know if I need to move it over there! I am just wondering if any of you have a favorite and/or great online human anatomy site? I have looked at a few but just haven't found "the one" yet. Maybe it's better to get a book? Opinions please! ...
The cartilage graft was then placed in the region of the s/l squ-ti-matic to cover this defect created by the atticotomy.

Hi all. First of all, wow- thank you so much for all of the great information in this section. I am a student at Andrews for medical coding and enjoying it so much. I'd like to supplement what I am already learning and go a little deeper into Anatomy and Physiology. My library has Great Courses DVDs that look promising. If you enjoyed a particular set of DVDs or a lecture available somewhere online, I'd love to know about it. It is extremely importan ...
For any MT students or new MTs I would suggest this book. It's been around for years. It has very detailed, labeled drawings of anatomical structures that you color in (need colored pencils or fine-tipped markers) I had one of these years and years ago (before I knew what an MT was). Helps you visualize the anatomy and remember the names of the structures. I had fun with it... ...
Bowel resection, doc states " A 3-0 silk S/L "pop" was then used to create stay sutures at the S/L "tinu or tinea" border of the transverse colon as well as the antimesenteric border."
Thanks in advance, I'm sure this is a simple word but I just can't think about what it is ...
Doc says: "There was an obvious tumor mass just above the left upper lobe s/l pickoff." I cannot for the life of me figure out if this is a real term or slang or if I'm hearing it totally wrong. Anyone know? Thanks in advance. ...
Looking for a male anatomy term that sounds like tragus or introitus. The sentence is "He had a Hibiclens prep and sterile draping of his abdomen, left thigh, scrotum, penis, and _____". It sounds like he is saying introitus but with a g like introigus. Can't find anything. ...
Someone please tell me the correct name of the "knot" or "bone" that is on the inside of the ankle, the one that sticks out. My brain is NOT functioning this morning apparently!
Thanks in advance! ...
I studied ALL WEEKEND and I think I am getting it. It seems the more that you code the more that you understand. I am excited about this class. I have been a medical transcriptionist for many, many years and I want something different for a change. Transcribing is getting old! ...
A friend of mine is taking the CareerStep class for MT (although I tried to talk her out of it). Anyway she is in the transcription part, and using the disks that were supplied with the course. How did you listen to and transcribe from this. She put the disk in the disk drive of her computer, but there is no way to start/stop the dictation, etc. and I believe it would be very frustrating. Or are we both missing something? Did you use expresscribe or something and do ...
I am taking a coding and billing course on-line and I am almost finished, but I am having trouble. I just do not get it. I code and then find out it should have been a different code. I start in the alphabetical index and then check the tabular index, but there is also the E and V and everything. I have a hard time with the order of things.
If anyone can help this poor soul it would be great. :-) ...
Doctor dictates patient is allergic to aspirin and s/l "Steff-ins."
Is "Steff-ins" a class of a medicatiion? I cannot document how it's spelled. Thank you very much!! ...
It used to be you were eligible for some benefits; even some companies had hospitalization. Now we don't even get any holiday pay. I swear, I will NEVER work another holiday unless it is absolutely unavoidable. Just because I am now semi-retired and only work part time doesn't mean I am NOT making a viable contribution to your (now) lousy company. ...

"These classes will vary in topic and although we will strongly suggest you take some or all of the classes in the end that decision will be up to you. They will not be mandatory as previously communicated but strongly encouraged for any MLS who wants to continue their education and professional training. HIPAA is the first class we loaded into the system because of the new regulations which became effective in February. Some of these regulations a ...
