webmedx NSA again sigh - webmedxmt

Posted: Sep 12, 2010

Sunday morning, and I am scheduled to work 8 hours on Sunday and already NSA. So, they tell us to get in any make-up hours Friday and Saturday, but I am already scheduled to work the hours they say to get in make up work, and I am going to be short big time looking at the work volumes :( I think I will ask for a schedule change, but not sure how that is going to fly!

I used to have the same dilemma - had to change schedule

I originally hired in Su-Thu, then I found out I was really getting the shaft working Sundays because that being the last day of their work week, that's the day everybody and their brother comes on to make up work. So I switched to Tu-Sa and that made a big difference - good and bad - good, in that now I have Sunday as a safety net if I can't get enough hours; bad, in that in my bible belt community NOTHING happens on Sunday and I miss all the fun on Saturdays.

I have discussed at length with my STM how weekend workers always get the shaft because people are always poaching our hours, and how to keep it fair they should rotate weekends so those of us who ALWAYS work them would at least get the chance to have a full paycheck now and then. That went over like a Led Zeppelin. Nobody cares.

Slow for us Tues to Sat people too. - sm

I work a 3-11 Tu-Sa, have 4 accounts (albeit clinic--have asked for acute), and still don't have enough work. Saturdays are horrible because everyone else is trying to make up work. Evenings during the week are bad because the day shift is trying to make up work. I have a 2nd job, so it's hard for me to flex later at night. I try not to have to work Sundays, because I know there won't be enough to go around. I wish you didn't have to make 40 hours if you still made the minimum lines required. That would save me a lot of frustration! I have actually found myself logged in just holding onto a job trying to add on some extra time even though it screws with my line count.

Can't wait for fall and things to pick back up.

NSA earlier in the week - nn

[ In Reply To ..]
Missed out on some time earlier in the week and my line count sucked the rest of the week. I spent too much time reading this board and worrying instead of typing. Guess I will pay for that when my STM finds my lines were below what they should be. Not good timing on my part. Hopefully, with all that has been going on and low work she will cut me some slack. Normally if your time is less than 40 on the nose you get the "benefits may be reduced" speech.

I was told to report it to the solution center - then no penalty

[ In Reply To ..]
I was told that the first time each day I run out work I should click on "request help" on community page, then submit a formal ticket for being out of work. That's gives them a paper trail that I was present and trying to work and the hour shortage is not my fault, so no penalty except a smaller paycheck if I can't make my 40 hours.

report to Solution Center - webmedxmt

I was told to always report as well, but just once a day. However, I was also told to flex to get in my hours, not that this would excuse me. But, in light of it being at the end of the week, there is nowhere to flex and maybe this is true! My STM is actually pretty nice and reasonable, I have always liked her, think I will ask!

Yejp, but also told to use PTO to make up hours even with tickets. - nm

Brilliant..OR MAYBE you could just tell ur STM that this big bad evil message BOARD is responsible for WMXs NSA DILEMMA!

Labor Day? - watchfulwaiting

[ In Reply To ..]
Since Monday was a holiday, by my reading as long as we work the holiday, however many hours (in my case 3 hours, as NSA for most of Monday due to being Monday or holiday, both likely contenders) we get paid for the 8 hours as a paid holiday. According to the manual it says you need to work 32 hours + whatever you get during your shift on the holiday. I was not even trying to make 40 this week due to the holiday. Am I wrong?

labor day? - webmedxmt

Ooohh I think you are right! But, I am not sure, I think you have to have the holiday preapproved off? But in the light of NSA, that should play a factor. Since I posted, volumes have picked up and I have been able to work, so I think I will get in all my hours!! Maybe some who were not schedueld to work on Sunday got the NSA and they stayed off! Anyway, I am a happy camper now :) I have 6 accounts, thinking that will help me not to run out of work too often, and I work the 2nd shift as well except the weekend. But this morning was dismal. Hopefully it will pick up for everyone.

NSA Monday morning - watchfulwaiting

[ In Reply To ..]
It used to be getting this was no big deal, Mondays usually being annoyingly slow in the morning (just when you want to get revved up for the week). Now it is unnerving, considering how "expensive" we all are. You have to wonder if they did not fire enough people and since the communication from the company has been so deplorable, paranoia sets in. I have been in this situation before and it is demoralizing. Some honest communication or at least a heads up would be preferable to this.

somewhere out there, there was an MTSO owner or CEO who was like the CEO's you see on the "Undercover Boss" TV show?    One who cared enough to actually want to know about the nuts and bolts of how his or her company operated?  And just how difficult it would be to be one of their employees?  I sure do! Webmedx Needs To Pay
Apr 24, 2010

The unremarkable Wedmedx needs to pay for the downtime MTs are incurring because they want to switch everything over to their horrendous ISR.  The unremarkable Webmedx requires 1 to 4 hours to get new computers up and running and yet we production people are supposed to make up that time or use our PTO time or just not get paid.  The unremarkable Webmedx just hired new people and gave them bonuses to sign on but can't pay their longtime loyal employees for time lost due to no ...

Webmedx Pay Better Than Most
Oct 16, 2010

I know a lot of MTs and I keep getting calls to get on MTStars and read the latest bashing of Webmedx.  So when I finished work today I decided to do just that.  To hear all of your complaints I wonder if this is the same company I've been working for all these years. I've been editing since ISR started with them and it took me about a year to make up and at times exceed where I was.  Now I prefer ISR.  The long and the short of it is that as long as Webmedx keeps ...
