Hi everyone! I am new to the transcription field, and I was wondering if anyone out there knows anything about inscribe transcription. Whether or not they are a good company to work for? Any information would surely be a plus!! Thank you, and have a great weekend!

However, they tend to resemble an 8th grade girl clique. It you kiss up, you can be in the clique, if not, well, they'll yell at you and threaten to terminate you every day.

I've worked for InScribe since I graduated from their university in 2007. InScribe definitely fosters a "family-type" atmosphere, where you can choose to develop relationships with your fellow MTs by helping each other learn and grow in the field of transcription; however, there are many who choose to simply transcribe with no interraction whatsoever and still remain extremely important and necessary to the success of InScribe. Either way, termination is only necessary if an MT's quality is not up to par or if the MT demonstrates negativity and spreads a nonproductive attitude in the work environment. The company is growing rapidly and hiring like crazy! No time for cliques, that's for sure!

Agreed that it's Junior High. It has to be, because you're all in IM chat together during your shift so that you can BEG OTHERS TO LISTEN TO YOUR REPORT TO FILL YOUR BLANKS, since you're allowed ZERO BLANKS.

The people are nice, and the ER docs say the same thing 99% of the time, so you can just load up a template and get paid 7 cents a line to read along. (No SR)

I liked working there. I was fired after a few months for filing a consultation as an emergency room report. Those I keep in touch with say things have gotten a mix of better and worse.

Yes, sometimes you will find yourself guessing because you MUST fill in those blanks. You just better hope you guess correctly because with the 99.5% QA that is required, you will be fired if you guess wrong too often. It is not easy AT ALL! I have been an MT for over 2 decades and honestly do not know how newbies survive at Inscribe

I must reply to this because I've worked at InScribe for awhile now and have been told since DAY 1 that WE DO NOT GUESS! Never, ever, ever.....like Taylor's song! lol! Anyway, guessing is a BIG NO-NO and if there is no other option than a blank, then a blank is inserted and our manager is contacted. The manager contacts the facility for further direction. We are not penalized in our quality assessment for blanks.

I have feverishly been sending my resume to companies for work. Thus far, NetScript (whom only wants 16 hrs per weekend); TTD, Inc. (Who also wants weekends, but I have heard horror stories about people not getting paid); and Inscribe (Which I had to pass 8 MT report tests to even apply, but will put me on a waiting list). New MT here. No work coming in at the moment so I'm looking at my transcription log. It gives a STD/QT count for each dictation, then at the end is a total of standard lines, qualified lines, and a grand total. What's the difference between standard lines and qualified lines, and what number is my line count based on? Example below. STD/QT38/419/1 ...

Hello MTs! I recently submitted application and tests document to InScribe US and was informed that although I did "well" on the test, I was slightly below their standards. They have invited me to participate in their internship program, take 4 of their learning modules, and work with someone one-on-one to bring me up to their standards. This is to cost $400. I was just wondering if anyone out there works for Inscribe or has taken their test for employment. I took the test and it was incredibly hard with ESL dictators. In the email I received from them, along with turning me down was a shpeel on enrolling in their university. This made me wonder if it was ligit or what....... anyone know? ...

Just spoke with them and they hire IC and say you can pretty much work whenever you want as long as you make minimum counts. Pay is only .07 for typing or VR but they use own VR system that sounds interesting, you repeat what was dictated. Any info on them would be helpful. Thanks ...

I reviewed comments on InScribe going back to 2005 and the only positive comment I could find is that they pay on time. A red flag was that they hire newbies and require that you go to an MT chat room and send the audio to another MT to listen to when you have to leave a blank before sending it to QA. There was also a comment that you are required to read all the comments in the chat room. Can anyone confirm this is the case? If so, it sounds like they use the seasoned MT ...

I just started a job using Emdat Inscribe, and my footpedal I ordered hasn't come in yet, so I have been using the function keys to play audio. I have been doing this for about a week now with no problem, but today I log in to work though and the keys are no longer working. The only way I can get the audio to play is by using the mouse. Anyone know why this may be? I haven't changed any of the settings, so I am not sure why they won't work now. TIA. ...
