As the post a little farther down said, the owner is definitely a nutcase and if not on medication, she really needs some...lots!. I do agree with that. She often sends out the red, all-capped emails with !!!!!!!!! before and after her sentences. She works her managers to death, micromanages, threatens and then they tend to become a little moody, impatient, and anxious as well and pass the same treatment they have received down to the MTs. The owner is not the only one who needs to check her medications.
The pay is low and the dictators (at least on my accounts) are very difficult. We are not allowed to send ANY blanks to the client and are not paid for any of the time it takes doing research, looking through old reports and trying to fill in our own blanks, which would be fine if this extra work was not required on the majority of reports. Often managers have become very upset and moody when they have to do QA, which I should mention I hardly ever have but have been made to feel as if I did something wrong on several occasions when sending reports to QA. You are expected to ask your team members for help listen to your blanks before you can send them to QA. This just adds even more to complete each report. You may have 3 people listen, and they still can't fill in the blanks, but meanwhile, you are waiting for them to download the files, etc. and have to try to get your blanks down to 2 or 3 (depending on the account) before being allowed to send to QA. Thank God I have a 2nd MT job to help out with the low pay from Inscribe. This at least allows me the opportunity to log out when I can't take anymore of the ESLs and work on my other job with better dictators and pay. The owner often asks/expects MTs to perform many tasks that they will not be paid for. There are always lots and lots of changes, which are sometimes hard to keep up with.
The owner also expects for everyone to have 99.5% QA, even with 75% ESL doctors and only being able to have 2 or 3 blanks go to QA and 0 blanks being able to go to the client. This is VERY difficult! Once you are placed on an account with high ESLs, don't expect to be able to come off. I have often felt trapped on my account with excuses given when I have asked for other accounts to at least offset this ESL torture.
So be prepared for all of the above if you want to work for Inscribe. The one good thing I really like about Inscribe is I do not have to stick to a set schedule. So if the work stresses me too much, I just log out and try to ignore the rants and screaming emails about the work being out of TAT, etc. I do what I have to do for MYSELF and don't really have a lot of loyalty to the company beyond that and doing the best I can on each report. I am able to tune the owner out and ignore her screaming emails. So if you can do that, please join us. But if you don't have tough skin and maybe a second job, I would run and not look back!

I am in training which will be over soon, but I too was thrown into this account with a couple of other new girls and there is no QA and we were constantly told to review and re review until its perfect. I don't understand why they don't have QA, they sent alot of samples but not enough. The other account I was on was so difficult the QA is constantly working. Some hospitals request that QA be done I was told. But then when I'm on a roll, I run out of work two hours before the end of my shift. I can make more money at McDonalds at 9 dollars an hour when the minimum wage goes up. Can't wait.

I will not even begin to address the lack of work ethic and low character it takes for someone to talk trash about their current OR PAST employer, as that is obvious in your post. As the mod of this forum has often cautioned, making personal attacks on individuals is NOT allowed, and yet it goes on and on, and from a current IC, this is very discouraging to know I work may work with you somewhere in this company.
What I WILL address, as a current IC with InScribe, are the inaccuracies or misleading comments made here.
INACCURATE: The red emails quit over 3 months ago and have not occurred since.
MISLEADING: The pay is average by today's standards in the industry. As for the ESL dictators, show me a company who does not have ESL dictators and I will show you a company that does not exist. You always have the option to QUIT.
MISLEADING: 'We are not allowed to send ANY blanks to the client and are not paid for any of the time it takes doing research, looking through old reports and trying to fill in our own blanks, which would be fine if this extra work was not required on the majority of reports.' The number of blanks is a client preference and not dictated by InScribe. Gee, I thought being an independent contractor meant JUST THAT. You really believe you are supposed to be PAID for researching to complete a report? This is a career that REQUIRES research skills, the ability to find one's own answers, to work INDEPENDENTLY, and yes, we are encouraged to network with our peers.
FACT: InScribe requires its MTs to maintain a minimum of 99.5% accuracy, and since there is quite an impressive 100% club, it is hardly not achievable. Some people would rather bitch about the bad things than report the positives, and if you are so unhappy with InScribe, I am sure they would not miss you at all with the attitude and lack of "loyalty" you self-describe.
If the MTs posting all this negative, inaccurate, or misleading information would spend more time looking for a job that MIGHT make them happier, and just QUIT the job they are obviously miserable in, everyone would benefit. ICs such as this poster are a disease within an organization, spreading negativity and blatant untruths. If your experience is so bad, the leave. It is not a negative experience for ALL of us and many of us are very appreciative to our employers in an industry where companies close their doors every day and leave MTs at the doorstep looking for other employment. What a miserable existence!
I talk AND type...high producer for Inscribe - Inscribe MT

I beg to differ. Miserable existence? Not hardly. I am a very happy person and do my job very well. I believe I said I have no loyalty to the company beyond doing the best job I can on every report and not stressing myself beyond what I feel I want to do at any given time. I must say that my minimum is more than most MT's maximum. I go over and beyond every day that I work for Inscribe and have been told how valuable an employee I am by all who have supervised me on several different platforms. I just will not allow myself to become burned out for a company who is owned by a person that I feel is ungrateful, rude, a slave driver, and acts unstable at times (in my opinion). I have little patience in the latter years of my life for such behavior. I do what I do for my account, my WGM, and my coworkers - not the owner. And yes, the pay is less than 8 cents per line, and I consider 8 cents standard. So, in my opinion, the pay is low. If the pay works for you, then that is your opinion, not mine.
I do not feel I am a bad person for telling the truth as I see it about my current or past employers. It just makes me an honest person. I will not build Inscribe up or try to pretend it is something it is not just because I work for them. I feel people deserve the truth as we as current or former employees see it. Sorry if that upsets you. I have never had a quality issue but do find that the requirements are a lot higher than other companies and slow us MTs down tremendously while we waste time looking and begging for help all while not being paid. This is a fact, not negative talk, just speaking the truth. I have been an MT for a very long time, before there was ever email or internet, and I feel that 75% ESLs on an account is very high. I do have a second job that only has 1 ESL, and this company has been in business a lot longer than Inscribe. I have worked for other companies with just as many ESLs and some with a lot less ESLs. I spoke the truth about my account, about 75% ESLs. Sometimes the truth hurts, but it is what it is.
I THOUGHT I said something positive in my post. From my post: "The one good thing I really like about Inscribe is I do not have to stick to a set schedule."
This is the main reason I stay with Inscribe. I should add that the pay is always on time - something else positive that I left out.
I am of an age that I can look beyond the ranting emails, but some cannot and find it very upsetting. As I said before, I tune them out, completely ignore them.
I also expressed my positive and negative experiences with Inscribe and stand behind my statements. I am not the only person who has expressed the exact same things in this forum so we all cannot be liars. So as you said, your experiences are exactly that - yours. My experiences are exactly that - mine. I have spoken my truth, and I appreciate you speaking yours. With all that said, I believe the poster can get both the good and bad information about the company, which was the reason for the post to begin with. So GOOD JOB to you for speaking your truth. As for me, I will continue to speak mine.
One more thing - Inscribe MT

As far as your suggestion that I quit, because I am such a high producer, I can make the amount of money I need to and choose to make a little less per line in order to have the freedom of not having a schedule. So that is the reason I stay. My freedom to not be tied down to a schedule means a lot to me because it gives me time with my family, etc. So I take the good with the bad, and I have expressed my opinions on both.

InScribe US Feb 27, 2011Hello MTs! I recently submitted application and tests document to InScribe US and was informed that although I did "well" on the test, I was slightly below their standards. They have invited me to participate in their internship program, take 4 of their learning modules, and work with someone one-on-one to bring me up to their standards. This is to cost $400. About InScribe... (sm) Jan 31, 2014I reviewed comments on InScribe going back to 2005 and the only positive comment I could find is that they pay on time. A red flag was that they hire newbies and require that you go to an MT chat room and send the audio to another MT to listen to when you have to leave a blank before sending it to QA. There was also a comment that you are required to read all the comments in the chat room. Can anyone confirm this is the case? If so, it sounds like they use the seasoned MT ...

Inscribe, Kentucky Sep 03, 2010Let me say that in all of the 20+ years I have been in this business, I have never encountered more rude, more criticizing, unprofessional people (particularly one manager ****) in my life.

That is really not a problem, it is the way you are talked to in emails. I will copy and paste VERBA ...
Inscribe - Beware Jun 22, 2011
There are reasons why a company has to keeping hiring for the same positions over and over again. Inscribe is that company. Most of the Tx are IC's but are forced to do the work of employees, i.e., training new transcriptionists, editing their work, being on call 24 7, computer-generated phone calls telling Tx's to get online any time of day or night, being on instant messenger AIM while transcribing in order to be able to help new people while you are transcribing - ...
