Does anyone know if softscript pays hourly? Are there any hourly paid jobs out there?

All MTSOs that I know of all pay by the line - not hourly

A few of the companies may still pay their QA by the hour, but MTs are pretty much all paid by the line (with a few of them paying by the page or per report).

About the only places that I know of that pay the MT an hourly wage are in-house positions, direct employee working at either a hospital or private office/clinic.

I do believe every employee/IC is payed by the line, either QA or MT. Unless you are a team lead or manager, it is all cpl.

SoftScript pays by the line - not sure what they pay employees - but for IC they pay 7 cpl with weekend and evening incentives.

Do they make it worth it for working the weekend or night hours? 7 cpl is awfully low, especially for an IC.

I cannot remember exactly what the incentives were, but not really worth it - something like half a cent more.

Yes, pay is very low especially for an IC, however it was all there was even 2 years ago when I started with them (I no longer work for them now).

I worked for them several years ago, they paid hourly during training - 2 weeks and then per line, but their line rates were definately competative and actually better than most. Work was there.

I keep reading posts about companies that pay 5 or 6 cpl for VR but where are these companies posting their job ads? I have 13 years of experience as an MT and my hands are sore and ache with all of the straight typing. I would love to make 5 or 6 cpl for VR not 3 or 4 cpl for VR!!!!!! On a post below about SGS, an MT states that she is being paid minimum wage.
