Is there a company who pays more than 0.085 cpl - GreedyMT

Posted: Sep 22, 2012

Still cannot see which Transcription company pays the best.  No one wants to say.  Is there a company who pays more than 0.085 cpl?

I doubt any pays any better. n/m - mtmt

Accentus has a 7 to 10 scale and a 4 to 6.5 - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I don't work for them, but interviewed and if they need me in Oct, they'll do a second interview. I actually appreciate that they don't overstaff, so I'm being patient for that reason.

It depends how productive you are. 200 and up is 10 (straight typing) and 325 and up is 6.5 (editing). I'm told it's mostly editing. I hear some bad things about the company, but it can't be worse than where I am now and I produce, so it's a good fit for me.

200 what and up is 10? 200 lines an hour? with spaces? nm - wondering

200 LPH and up on transcription is 10 - Works there

[ In Reply To ..]
200 LPH, visible characters only, but it is based on a 55-character line which is approximately equivalent to a 65-character line with spaces. Be aware that in a lot of cases, the only dictators who are put on straight transcription are the ones who are impossible to transcribe at a speed of over 200 LPH, and most accounts are extremely high percentage of VR. Still, the pay is better than a lot of other places.
Short reports though - flmt
[ In Reply To ..]
Worked there 6 weeks - really tried, but most reports were 6-10 lines and spent 10 minutes locating all the copies and figuring out how to deal with them. This was supposed to be acute care but got all these short "letters" Could not get even close to previous line counts.

Accentus platform? - mus

[ In Reply To ..]
What platform does Accentus use and how is it to work with?

Accentus uses Apex. It is truly awful. - Works there now.

[ In Reply To ..]
Very bare bones, very slow. You'd better have the fastest Internet connection. I do. I hate Apex.

Accentus - B1

[ In Reply To ..]
They seem like a decent company and I received an offer from them BUT they do not pay for spaces or "normals". That significantly cuts down your pay. Other than that, their pay scale is not bad and it seems that their accounts are okay. I did not accept their offer and I do not work for them.

Hold on... - Des

Are you saying you get 8.5 cpl for VR and straight typing?  If so, that's pretty darn good.  I'd take it over 4 cpl/9 cpl any day.  What company do you work for?

Accentus does not pay that. - Former

[ In Reply To ..]
It's 4 cpl and the straight typing is pretty rare, extremely rare, and normally goes to someone who has been there a long time. You run out of work a lot! Most of the work is off-shored anyway so in ways they do overstaff. I quit. On-Time was a good company for years and then they sold to Accentus and people started dropping like flies.

accentus/Transolutions - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
The Transolutions part of Accentus DOES pay that, but beware very few people are making those rates. The platform, as stated above, is a dinosaur. There are a million things you need to do that are not paid (one account has around 200 WTs and the docs seldom input the correct one, and there are pages of EMR codes to look through to choose the correct account visit, and often many copies, NONE of this time is paid) so when you look just at rates it looks good, but you will find achieving those rates is close to impossible. What I can say is that I do not believe that this part of Accentus (old Transolutions) offshores, to my knowledge.
Apex is not M*Modal - anon2
[ In Reply To ..]
Accentus says they have M*Modal, but Apex is NOT M*Modal and far from it. They really need to quit saying this when hiring new MTs. Apex is the worst I have ever worked with. Yes, it is a dinosaur.
Apex is their transcription platform, M*Modal is their voice rec program - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
Just like there are DQS, Escription, and Enterprise platforms, Apex is the platform for Accentus/Transolutions at least. The M*Modal is the voice recognition program that they use, so this is correct info.

I also quit Accentus - FormerToo

[ In Reply To ..]
On-Time was good back in the day but the new QA folks make it horrible. Then when they sold, it was time to go. Accentus ran out of work due to sending work to India. The pay is horrible. I started a part-time job, not MT work, and made more my first week than I did for the entire month with Accentus.

Okay, I'll ask again. To the OP (GreedyMT), which company do YOU work for? - Des

Mar 19, 2013

PTO is a benefit, not to be used as a wage!!  I know it works to your advantage to strongly suggest that MTs use PTO when there is no work, but there are some who will NEVER do that.  Suggest it, yes, but expect it?  How would you like to use your PTO as part of your wage?  ...

To all you are wondering if it can happen.  Yes, it can and it did for me.  I was just hired for my first coding job!!!  I am only half way through my AHIMA coding course but I have 20 years of acute care transcription experience.  I applied for every job that came up even if I did not meet the requirements.  Only a few responded, but that is okay.  It only takes one.  I was really surprised that I even was offered the chance to test.  My first test was a ...

Temp Job That Pays Well
Aug 19, 2013

I was hired as a recruiter for a large cancer nonprofit that holds walk-a-thons. It is a 3-month temporary position and I was allowed to choose the hours, anywhere from 20 to 40 hrs a week. It involves reaching out to corporations and individuals and asking them for in-kind or monetary donations as well as participating in the walk-a-thon itself. Most of the contacts are repeat donors and are happy to get the call to join in the event again. Participation with the event is also required - se ...

SGS Pays SOME MTs Minimum Wage

On a post below about SGS, an MT states that she is being paid minimum wage.  She states she had to 'fight' for it, however, they are paying her minimum wage on the accounts where she is scheduled, and expected, to sit in front of her computer when there is very little work. I have asked several coworkers about this, and some of them are being paid minimum wage, as well.  Not all; only the ones who requested (demanded) it. THERE GOES ALL MTSO CLAIMS THAT SINCE WE' ...
