iMedX bait and switch? - CALIMT

Tested for iMedX and passed the below Surgical job they had posted: Specialty: Surgery Job Description: Current openings for OPs (ambulatory surgery/multiple specialties) accounts as IC (Independent Contractor). Must have approximately 5 years of experience in acute care/hospital transcription. Coverage is needed 7 days. Okay....even though this job is STILL posted on another MT site they are telling me they are putting it on HOLD for a few more weeks and posting another add for a nursing home (which I have not seen) and offering me this large state nursing home account (this involves a lot of acute care transcription, heavy ESL dictators). Is that what I have heard on this site as the "bait and switch"? They offer up one job and then give you another? The recruiter answered all my questions incluing saying they do NOT have a contract (in their subcontractor agreement) that states they can hold 50% of your salary under 3 circumstances and other questions and has been been very nice so far. I don't know what to think of this...I must have done a good job with the ESL ortho surgery and they want me for the nursing home account or they outright lied about the position. How do I know?

I worked for them for 3 months and it was an absolute nightmare! Terrible communication, after 2 months they switched software, put me on an impossibly difficult account, finally switched me only to lose customer after 3 weeks, you can't tell me they didn't know that was coming! My team leader was gone on vacation more than she was there, and they had so many people doing QA, constantly giving me conflicting information!! I was fired after 3 months (I've been a transcriptionist for over 25 years) because I could not meet 98% accuracy, I had 97.8!! Stay away if you ask me!

Thank you so much! I was worried with such heavy ESL and different doctors every day I would never pass QA or meet the 98% and I have done transcription for 15 years. Almost setting me up to fail right off the start and seemed dishonest right out of the gate with the switch in job offers. Thanks again for letting me know your experience.

No one on this board seems to give specifics when they get canned from IMEDX. So my question is this: Can each person who got laid off/fired let us know more details. Were you PT or full time, did they call or did they email, did you have options, or just firing. How many lines did you do per day. I don't know too much about KVM switches, but I am getting ready to start two new jobs and have two different computers. I thought I might try one. I have always transcribed either from a C-phone, tapes, or worked for a national that had their own dictation platform. My local account wants to switch from tapes to something similar to Emdat and wants my advice. He has very little dictation and just needs something that he can dictate from any phone, where I can access it from home. Lately I have not been able to stay on the same account more than 2 days in a row. Since my primary that I was on for 6 years went VR and I did not go with it, I have been switched from one account to another to another. They say my work is great but I do not like being a floater. What type of careers are any one of you who are leaving MT or who are former MTs are retraining for? I'm very undecided. I'm not too crazy about being in school a long time or least longer than 1-1/2 to 2 years. I thought about coding but heard that that field is changing too like MT.
