false job openings - sm

I don't understand these MTSOs. I've interviewed with both Keystrokes and Transcend per their job seeker's board ads for all shifts available, part-time and full-time, and offered a job. However, both declared no 1st shift openings and that they are only hiring for 2nd and 3rd shifts, nor do they have any part-time openings. They both indicated that 1st shift rarely has openings and they don't regularly hire part-timers.

Why do they advertise these types of hours available when they don't have them? I'm really fuming that I spent the time on these two companies only to find out they advertised misleading information. This makes me so mad, I just had to vent before I exploded!!!!

If they lie in their job posts, it makes me wonder what else they'd lie about if I were working for them. I guess I'm glad to find this out now rather than later.

However, that's still no excuse for them to advertise job openings they don't have.

I was hired full time Tues-Sat, 1st shift. Maybe those shifts were filled right away. I had applied back in April when a certain other company let a lot of us go and there were no first shift job openings. This time, there were, so it depends when you apply.

you applied in April and just now got hired? That seems like a very long time to wait for a job. Did you send in other resumes in the meantime. I was offered a job in the a.m. as well and jumped on it a couple of months ago. The platform sucks and it makes it very difficult to get my lines in.

However, I was also told they weren't hiring part-timers, which was what I wanted. I'm hoping if I complain enough, I'll get dropped to part-time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I took a job in the meantime but it did not work out due to a - certain merger. nm

They do this because the platforms are horrific and they have problems maintaining MTs with these accounts.

I saw an ad for MQ looking for MTs. In the ad they brag of 1500 customers (read mostly overseas), world-wide career path (read better move to India to keep your job) and $500 sign-on bonus (read MQ will make that back quick out of your line count). ...

I noticed on the job seeker's board lately Transcend has openings every week. I also realize they are one of the top 3 dogs in the industry supposedly, but I cannot help but notice the other 2 top dogs are not advertising weekly to job seekers. The email states that, if you pass the test and get the job, you will get a 5% raise with max of 10.5 cents typing, 6.3 cents ASR, although....hmmm.... no QA rate is mentioned. Did MMEs not get the same pay cut that the rest of us MT/ASR editors did? Very interesting that no QA rate is mentioned....me thinks me smells a rat hidden in the wall. ...

As I scroll through various openings and peruse the various listings, it is astounding to me how many employers do not know how to word the description properly. E.g., they fail to include the most basic info, such as whether it is a telecommuting or an on-site job (and it's not clear from the duties and responbilities).
