More openings - at Transcend??

I noticed on the job seeker's board lately Transcend has openings every week. I also realize they are one of the top 3 dogs in the industry supposedly, but I cannot help but notice the other 2 top dogs are not advertising weekly to job seekers. I bet many will say because they are acquiring NEW accounts, but I am suspicious it is because they cannot keep MTs.

I don't buy the "have new accounts" spin. They have SO many people that are begging for work, but they have to hire for new accounts?? Makes no sense whatsoever.

Some of those begging for work only do limited - work types. Right RLee?

I'm fortunate that I have a secondary, but I know of several people who have been asking for secondary accounts and have been denied. I asked for a tertiary account and was denied, and I have over 15 years acute care experience on several different platforms Transcend utilizes. When I asked for the tertiary account, I was told that the openings in the accounts would go to people on our account that did not have secondary accounts, yet the majority of them did not even get a secondary.

So that's not true at all.

I did clinic and was hired for clinic only!!!! To reiterate - they removed me from my tertiary due to what I was told Transcend wanting MTs to have only 2 accounts. I was then removed from my secondary due to TL stating I was taking work away from other MTs who had that account as a primary. I was at one point the only one typing my primary, but they added more MTs to that, which limited work available to me. My accounts that were removed from my pooling were accounts locally where I live, which I had been typing for over 3 years before the merge. Yes, I had limited speciality/work types, but obviiously others at Transcend are not limited and are still chasing work daily. I also notice that a lot of companies are seeking specific speciality MTs like radiology, cardiology, neurology, etc. Obviiously they want to hire for a specific speciality and if you are hired for that particular speciality/work type I do not feel you should be removed from accounts you were hired specifically for. I also notice on the job wanted board may MTs are seeking specific specialities. So I guess I am not going to get into this conversation any further as to my particular situation, as it has been beat up enough. Hope you have enough work to keep you busy today in an 8-hour shift!!!!

From the several recent posts on this board from MTs who have finally gotten away from that den of snakes, I would venture to guess Transcend cannot keep their MTs. New accounts or not, when you get the details, rate of pay, VR, platforms, nasty emails, nasty ROMs, horrible expensive benefits, it is pretty easy to see why. Just happy to be gone and with a sweetheart of a company. Best I ever worked for and yes, that includes MDI, after what she did to all of us. I am HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!

I don't understand these MTSOs. I've interviewed with both Keystrokes and Transcend per their job seeker's board ads for all shifts available, part-time and full-time, and offered a job. However, both declared no 1st shift openings and that they are only hiring for 2nd and 3rd shifts, nor do they have any part-time openings. The email states that, if you pass the test and get the job, you will get a 5% raise with max of 10.5 cents typing, 6.3 cents ASR, although....hmmm.... no QA rate is mentioned. Anyone know why there are so many openings for Keystrokes? It seems on another MT job posting site that they have a full page of different job openings...is it worth it to apply or are there so many because they are a horrid company to work for? ...

As I scroll through various openings and peruse the various listings, it is astounding to me how many employers do not know how to word the description properly. E.g., they fail to include the most basic info, such as whether it is a telecommuting or an on-site job (and it's not clear from the duties and responbilities). There are job openings on the job seekers board with Volunteer Transcription. Anyone know anything about this company? Also says pay is "biweekly." Doesn't that mean twice a week? Sounds like a typo. ...
