Does anyone know who Nicole and Dawn are who have job openings? - They do not give any company info

I give up. I guess I have been looking for work for too long. Or maybe it is time to retire.

There is a Post on the Job Seekers Board from “Nicole” and she wants us to “Please copy/paste your resume.” One slight problem, she does not give her Email address and I cannot see a link.

Since there have been more than 346 views, can 1 of those people tell me what I am doing wrong?

On another rant, I really hate the job posts that do not give a company name or any information about where the company is.

“Dawn” has so many jobs, she has posted 5 times since December 16, 2009, but all she gives is her Email address. With all the questionable “tested on what looked like current reports and never heard from them again” and “worked for them for a month, and not paid of 3 months” Posts on this Board, why would anyone take the chance?

Don’t these “recruiters” realize they are probably missing out on a lot of experienced, hard-working Medical Transcriptionists who skip over these types of job openings? It is no wonder they have to keep coming back and re-posting. If the post is viewed 1000 times, I bet not even 10 people reply to these vague job offers anymore.

Is everyone going crazy or is there something in the drinking water that makes us all forget about common sense?

Dawn is the lead QA person/recruiter for TTD (The Transcription Doctors) pay is 0.8 cpl for straight typing and 0.3 for VR -- more VR than straight typing though and if I remember correctly pay dates are on the 10th and 25th -- when I was there no DD was available and since my bank is not in the lower area, had to have a company that offered DD.

I accepted a position for 7/3.5 - Disappointed

For an until-recently very much praised MTSO on a huge clinic account. I knew the pay was lower than usual but figured lines would be easy to make.

The first couple of paychecks were fine because the account was new and it was all straight transcription.

When the account became probably 70/30 in favor of editing, WHOA...Two weeks of working diligently and BARELY cleared enough to pay my rent. I had never seen such a low paycheck. At my other job, I average around 5.5 cpl for editing. I had no idea just 2 cpl could make such a vast difference in a paycheck.

Never again would I take an editing account for less than 4.5 cpl, no matter how straightforward the account might be.

Was that as an IC or employee? - sm

Everyone needs to keep in mind you need a couple of cents more per line on average as an IC to make up for paying half your own SS, taking care of your own taxes, paying all your own health insurance, no dental, no sick days, no vacation days, no holidays, etc.

Hope you got away from them and found something better! :)

I noticed on the job seeker's board lately Transcend has openings every week. I also realize they are one of the top 3 dogs in the industry supposedly, but I cannot help but notice the other 2 top dogs are not advertising weekly to job seekers. I don't understand these MTSOs. I've interviewed with both Keystrokes and Transcend per their job seeker's board ads for all shifts available, part-time and full-time, and offered a job. However, both declared no 1st shift openings and that they are only hiring for 2nd and 3rd shifts, nor do they have any part-time openings. The email states that, if you pass the test and get the job, you will get a 5% raise with max of 10.5 cents typing, 6.3 cents ASR, although....hmmm.... no QA rate is mentioned. As I scroll through various openings and peruse the various listings, it is astounding to me how many employers do not know how to word the description properly. Dear Friends: I seem to have small ear canals/openings and because of that my Spectra headsets broke because I have to push them in too far and they will not fit and now the copper wire disoldged and now I am looking to buy another pair.
