Why is Keystrokes hiring again for the same jobs - Carol2

Why is Keystrokes hiring again for the same jobs that were posted a couple of weeks ago? Are the accounts so bad that no one will stay longer than a couple of weeks? Just curious because I applied the last time they advertised these same jobs but didn't get hired even with 15+ years experience.

If they have new accounts then maybe they should share them with those of us who constantly run out of work and are told there is "nothing available". Some of us truly WANT to make our line counts but find it impossible to even get an email answer in return to requests for additional accounts...maddening!

It's much more lucrative for them to overstaff, keep the counts below what you need to make for benefits.

My dad was employed by a huge corporation. Full pension and retirement benefits (which was a REALLY impressive package) kicked in at 20 years of employment. CONTINUOUS employment, that is.

This greedy corporation would find a reason to lay off people within the 6 months leading up to their 20 years of continuous service, whether for a few days or a couple of weeks, and would find some random reason ("slow in the department lately, temporary manpower cutback", you name it), specifically to cheat these hard-working, dedicated employees out of their retirement/pension packages. That one little word ("continuous") gave them every imaginable legal loophole to do this, too. They would then call the person back to return to their job if they still wanted it. Sickening.

Corporations will stop at nothing to save a few bucks (or a lot of bucks). I wouldn't be surprised to learn these MTSOs who dangle the benefit carrot in front of the MT also manipulate the work flow when someone is coming close to qualifying for benefits. Sounds tedious and time-consuming, but since it's all about the bottom dollar, I wouldn't be one bit surprised if it were true.

Technology has improved the devious 'controlling' in this industry. Beware when you see all these openings and from a company that lies and tells its supervisors to do the same while management is 'out to lunch.'

I worked for KS for several years and finally quit last year when I couldn't take anymore of the lies and constant running out of work. The account that I was on during my last year or two at KS always used to be incredibly busy and we were always being told that we needed to "help out as much as possible" to get them into TAT. Last year, the work suddenly started disappearing from that account and we were all left spending at least half of our shifts waiting for work. I know that it was happening on other accounts as well since I had several friends who also worked for KS. I asked multiple times for another account because I wasn't getting enough lines and I was always told that work would be picking back up real soon and that they would find me another account and get back to me, but they never did. When I asked again, my emails were ignored. Then, to pour more salt on my already gaping wound, they cut my pay. That was the last straw for me. I quickly found a new job and quit. They do NOT care about their employees at all anymore and only care about saving themselves as much money as possible, even if it's at the expense of the MT. They are only out for themselves. Like someone else mentioned, when I was first hired at KS, I was making 9.5 cpl. When I left last year, they had me down to 8. Avoid this company at all costs. All I can say is what goes around comes around....

There is one with volume so low you can't hear the dictation unless volume is all the way up and you keep your fingers off the keyboard long enough to hear. Dictation are only a few second long, separated by filling out their demographic spread sheets for zero compensation, which takes as much time as the transcription. That account is "CC". There is also a manager, name starts with M that is a bear and sends emails to innocent parties whenever someone makes a mistake, everyone on the account rather than taking the time to look up the initials.

KS continues to overhire for this account. I think because if they have too many MTs then everyone gets basically part-time lines and KS only has to pay you 7 cpl and no benefits! If this account gets out of TAT for one day they run an ad, but don't fall for it. You'll be sorry.

the starting line rates of 7 and 7.5 per line. I worked for them briefly a few years back and was started at 9 cpl. What the heck is going on in this business?!?! In their dreams would I work for that. I'd make more at Wal-Mart and probably get better benefits too.

WTF is going on? I am no longer an MT, but I still care about a lot of people who are still TRYING to work at the Q. I want to work a part time job to supplement my other part time job at Nuance because sometimes there is no work. I see an opening at TTS but when reviewing posts about TTS it sounds like a bad place to work with incompetent recruiters and managers. It seems 95% of the posts are bad regarding TTS. some part-timers anyway, why not offer weekends to part-timers and offer some Mon-Fri shifts for the experienced full-time MTs you're trying to get..... That's about the only way you're going to get many experienced quality MTs. And there are always plenty of MTs looking for part-time weekend work as a 2nd job. ...

Is this just a scam so that employers don't have to pay benefits and employer taxes? I bet if there was an audit, most ICs and MTSOs would be in trouble for using that classification improperly, especially for the full-time positions. I even applied for a full-time secretarial job in a small law office recently, and was told I would be hired as a contractor with no benefits. I was stunned and declined. I see ads for Medtrans all over the internet for all different cities and you go to their website and it seems they are pushing you to take their course and then they will hire you. I am just confused because I keep seeing the companies advertise for months, yet they seem to say "no" a lot.
