Keystrokes is hiring for radiology MT - boydsgal

Posted: Jun 17, 2010

I see that Keystrokes is hiring for radiology MT.  Is anyone familiar with the company? Thanks

I do. I have worked there for 8 years in radiology and love it. sm - RadMT

There have been changes over the years in radiology and now I do Powerscribe editing for one account and back-up on another that does full transcription. I have always made great money and have always had as much work as I needed. The person in charge of radiology is the best manager I have ever had, anywhere, ever.

Truth be told, I prefer Powerscribe editing now to regular transcription. It's faster, easier on my hands and my checks have increased even though my rate is lower than with the regular transcription.

There are many who are making very little money and there are many who are making vast sums. There are some leads are who truly a gem and then there are some that are simply neurotic and petty. Sounds like two different companies. The "5 years of experience" required does not mean you will be seeing that skill compensated.

New MTs should ask what the typical MT is making on an account. Realize you are PT when you are hired and paid for lines only - in other words, type as fast as you can if you want a paycheck during training.

I just got hired a couple of weeks ago and I am still training. I did not know when I started that they really do not train that much. They started training me because I was out of work for so long, but it seems like a good place to work. It is just the pay while you are getting trained. It is trued, I guess you just have to type your butt off if you want money while you are training and probably after training. :)

I have. They seem, by far, the most competent of all companies.

there are quite a few indicating problems with pay. Make sure you understand everything they require AND GET IT ALL IN WRITING SIGNED.

It seems they don't consider training really training and you will be wrote up during that period of learning if you fail audits, etc.

Good luck.

Keystrokes Hiring?
Oct 21, 2009

I'm a bit confused with Keystrokes.  The ad they have placed here indicates wanting 40 people for new accounts, etc.  However, I just received an email about job openings for only 2 very heavy ESL 1-9 shifts.  I don't understand why they would have this ad and yet only be sending info about only the 2 jobs.  I'm in their DATABASE and am sent these emails according to what opens up.  I have not received anything about these supposed 40 j ...

Keystrokes Is Hiring?
Dec 31, 2009

Does anybody know if Keystrokes is hiring?  I haven't seen any ads here for a while.  I wanted to put in a resume, but only if it would be actually looked at and not just thrown in a drawer.  I sent one to Transcend only to be told no openings available, and I'm going on their list.  I've been on this list for a few months now, despite the frequent job ads placed, and have yet to be notified about anything available.      ...

Radiology Pay?
Nov 11, 2009

I have been working acute care for the last 5 years and getting paid by the line.  I haven't done radiology in a few years, and when I was working in radiology I always got paid by the hour.  Now a local hospital is interested in my helping them out on the weekends with their radiology backlog, and are wanting to pay by report, but I have no idea what the average pay per report should be.  Can someone give some idea as to what I should be asking for?  Thanks ...

What's So Different About Radiology?
Jul 27, 2013

I'm wondering why radiology seems to be its own separate entity in the MT world.  It seems like if you know radiology, they'll bend over backwards to hire you.  I've done radiology before, just as part of my regular MT pool.  I don't get what's so "special" about it.  Does it have it's own quirky platform or something? ...
