Webmedx voted AHDI employer of the year - laughing

Posted: Aug 10, 2010

Thoughts on this? I think it is laughable, all the begging they did for us to fill out the survey and nobody was doing it.  I would not consider it an honor to be voted best of anything by the AHDI.

Well, considering the list of those who have been honored by...sm - Yeah, well...........

[ In Reply To ..]
AHDI, this is not a surprise! In the past, it has been Transcend and some other of the known cruddy companies. It IS laughable. And this honor TO ME has always pretty much made me want to avoid those companies! Dime to a dollar they will have offshore affiliates in one form or the other, or will be shmoozing with AHDI - which both make me want to run FAST AND HARD!

Whooppeeeeeee!!! Who cares? - mrs.krabs

[ In Reply To ..]
AHDI has done nothing to help us lowly transcriptionists.

mrs. krabs - Nick

I am with you. My dog has more credibility with me than AHDI. If they told me the sun was shining, I would walk outside and look up at the sky to be sure. They have done NOTHING to help the American MT and a lot to harm us. Who cares what the "endorse?" Whether it is a company or toilet paper, I don't care.

Webmedx does NOT offshore. sm - WMX MT

[ In Reply To ..]
They are one of the few US transcription companies with an all US MT workforce.

I admire that.

They still screw their workforce. Offshoring isn't the worst thing a company can do. - Take that to the bank!

[ In Reply To ..]
:-( The only reason they got this award is because they bought and paid for it.
Come on, it's really a pretty darned good company. - Poppy

for many people. Whatever may be happening with some people, or why, hundreds of MTs are making a decent living. Whatever dissatisfactions people may have, they're all industry-wide and definitely not as bad as we hear about from some places.

I like the new platform and really appreciate the many lovely little ways it shows how closely MTs were involved in its development.

I really appreciate that we never have the kinds of problems with QA so many report from elsewhere.

I especially like that there is a real attempt to reward/pay people more the higher they produce, even though benefits that associate with lowering of production, like days off, etc., are toward the lower side of the industry scale. In other words, the company may strike people with lower line counts as nothing special, but it gets more and more satisfactory the higher those line counts and paychecks go. There's also continued support, both individually and classes, offered to help people increase that production.

And I really like the account manager I work under. Not a handholder, but always entirely reasonable and helpful.

I like that Webmedx is actively and intelligently working with the winds of change to secure our work into the future.

I like that Webmedx does not offshore.

And--AHDI, yes, among the cozy ones, but that doesn't negate the company's real value as an employer in these rocky days.

Hello management :0 How r u today?
Good post. I agree with all of your points. sm - Content
[ In Reply To ..]
...there are good and bad points to every employer out there. Life itself is light and dark, good and bad, happy and sad...you get my point.

I feel that the positive aspects about Webmedx far outweigh the negative. Yes, Webmedx is not perfect, but for me it's a good fit.

I also feel, like the poster above that they do care about their MTs.
Umm, are you smokin those poppies, Poppy? - hoo boy what a load
[ In Reply To ..]
yikes
I agree, they are a good employer but the self-serving - surveys are wearing thin. nm

Well, Considering...... - Nick

[ In Reply To ..]
AHDI got in bed with MedQuist years and years ago. And the rest is history. And the MTs did not even get a kiss.....

Whhhaaaaaatt? Its not the Q? - I dont believe this

[ In Reply To ..]
I thought for sure it would be the Q after they were given all that money from the Q taken from the MTs pockets!

Money from Q MTs to AHDI - Still ticked

[ In Reply To ..]
Wish you hadn't reminded me of that. I am still ticked over that one. Take the money from us and give it to an organization that is doing NOTHING for us. Give me a break. I wish they had donated it to a good cause like assistance for orphans or battered wives instead. They didn't want to break it down by MT and pay out what was due, this way they could pay ??? to a company and we were supposed to feel vindicated. Grrr.

Webmedx & how to qualify... LMAO - tortured MT

[ In Reply To ..]
does it really matter?

Webmedx - Relieved

[ In Reply To ..]
I am so pleased with all the above. I am glad it is not just me with the above feelings. Well, off to apply for a new job....

WMX versus the Q - my2cents

[ In Reply To ..]
I will tell you one thing, I left the Q after 18 years of loyal service (I was with them when they were known as "Transcriptions Limited"), and went to work for WMX. For the last 6 years I have been happier with them than I ever was at the Q and they do NOT send work overseas, which is a good reason to support them. I actually also like the new platform, but that's just me.

I agree - JF

[ In Reply To ..]
I agree with you 2 cents. I worked for the Q for 14 years starting when they were the MRC Group and we got paid by the word instead of the line. I havent been with Webmedx very long, but I will say so far I am completely happy and also like the new platform. I hope to be with them for years to come (unless I win lotto, of course!) :)

Ditto - 2 more cents

[ In Reply To ..]
I worked for ddi and then for Q after they bought us out. ddi was awesome. Q at first was good, then okay, then stinky for me about 3 years ago. Started working at Webmedx 2 years ago. SOOOO glad I'm here!

As far as platforms, I miss INET.

Thats kinda like calling Joan Crawford ("Mommy - Dearest") Mother of the Year. (nm)

Webmedx ADHI Employer of the year - Seekingsolace

[ In Reply To ..]
AHDI is Webmedx and MQ and M-Modal and the rest of those companies who support AHDI. Webmedx just probably paid the most this year. Webmedx said they would offshore unless MTs accepted ISR with lower pay--nice threat, and they think we are supposed to be grateful. Not having work and/or less pay because of VR and overhiring versus offshoring is still not having work and/or less pay. I, too, worked at Medquist and was happy at Webmedx until the new management took over (with some of the same people who previously lead the now bankrupt Spheris), and have experienced the downward spiral. They are Webquist--sorry company.

Last year when we won we got wage cuts as a reward - wht do we get this time?

[ In Reply To ..]
Layoffs? Our insurance taken away? What's our prize for making you #1 this year? You told us last year how great we were, how valuable we were, and then you cut our wages. Great reward, huh? I really can't guess what the next bomb will be - but its coming, just like last year.

Oh and do not forget our insurance rate hikes! - Another bonus for us.

[ In Reply To ..]
Truly remarkable.

And don't forget...... - Ha

[ In Reply To ..]
#1 company....no work, no work, no work, WAIT over time, over time, over time....HURRY HURRY HURRY. Waste o time....
Don't let the door hit ya... - More work for me when you LEAVE
[ In Reply To ..]
Go somewhere else then. There are plenty of options out there if this one doesn't fix your needs.
Take your attitude elsewhere - WebMT

I am sure your new employer would love it! More work for us who really enjoy working here.

to see what their insurance rates are like. High! Rate increases are strongly based on the number of claims sent by employees.

There are few companies that apply - K

[ In Reply To ..]
There are very few companies that apply for AHDI Employer of the Year. It really means nothing when you find out how low the number is. Laughable, really.

and how would you know that.... - WebberMT

[ In Reply To ..]
when the employees are the ones who nominate a company?

Nobody asked me to nominate them - employee for 3 years

[ In Reply To ..]
I suggest a new survey for ALL the employees to take - stating whether we feel they DESERVE to be Employer of the Year. But as long as a few paid brownnosers like yourself are the only ones allowed to be heard - they look pretty good on the surface.

Regarding Webmedx Being AHDI Employer Of The Year
Aug 12, 2010

This is funny.  I just called AHDI and asked how many nominees were there for Employer of the Year for this year?  With such fanfare as Webmedx makes over it, it must be quite an accomplishment, right? What's your guess? .. . . wait for it... . THREE! LOL lololol three. 3. hahaha sorry, I couldn't help it. And asked whether that's typical of previous AHDI Employer of the Year awards (because they really like to tell everyone about that title), I was told by Mi ...

Tell The Potential 2nd Employer About The 1st?
Sep 20, 2011

Took me quite awhile to figure this out. You need 2 MT jobs because they all overhire to keep many more employees less busy to pay less. In my day, you kept your 2nd job quiet, but what is the way to do it now? Is it good or bad to be looking for a 2nd part-time job, do you tell them. Is there anyone who left the first job to go full time with the 2nd one or switched them? And is it better to go IC in the 2nd job because of flexibility? I sound pretty dumb! ...

Contacting Former Employer
Jul 09, 2012

Has anyone ever contacted a former employer to see if they would re-hire you? Reason I am asking is, I was working with this MT company, but had to quit because something happened to my computer and my back-up didn't have the specifications required to run the software they use. It's been about 4 months since I've quit, and I have a new computer now that would work with what they offer. I am hesitant to ask to see if they would consider re-hiring me because when I quit, even thoug ...
