Many of the job inquiries go unanswered, yet got a FB request from a Vika Chopra who is out of India and looks like he has his own India-based MT service...??...wondered if anyone else has been requested to be his friend.

I don't job hunt there, nor do I post my occupation on my profile. It's just for play, finding old friends since we're scattered all over the US. And I keep my page private, not public.

Just ignore him and if it bothers you that bad, rethink your settings and info you allow strangers to see in your profile. Try Linkedin which is straight professional, no cutsie-wootsie pictures of kittens, etc. But there, too, it is a global board.

Yet, I do not have my occupation or anything personal posted. I use FB not for 'fun' either, but for connection with family living long distances. THe only thing is everyone is putting in for these jobs and sending resumes and hearing absolutely nothing back and not even that they got your application and why you were not selected. Some of these places are questionable, as are a lot of MTSOs. This is the second time there has been a company in India. Just thought it was odd and with these companies saying they get like 500 resumes to ads on this board, I wondered if anyone else had the same people contact them. That's all.

No, In the last 4 to 10 years of applying (I always look for a backup), I have never heard from this man or anyone about a job through here or FB or the other 3 sites I use.

Companies get 600 to 800 resumes per job - that would be 600 to 800 'yes, got your resume' answers, and another 600 to 800 'no, you were not selected' replies. They would need to hire someone for just that, now there's a job. And you'd be surprised how many American soil companies are now Indian owned, and I'm sure companies over there watch our boards for potential employees, no one is locked out from reading. Recently a handful of companies follow up (2 days or less) with by replacing the ad with a post that the position is closed due to the high level of responses. They should all do that.

Again, never heard from your guy or anyone else of similar nature. But, I don't send my resume through this site or any other job ad board, I go direct to the company's web site and reply there, after checking the ownership through a site like Manta or Who Is if not already familiar with an MTSO already.

I am just curious...has anyone ever reported companies that don't pay you for your work? Does anyone ever simply e-mail a resume to a company rather than completing the long, drawn out application they want filled out when you click the link to apply? I have 30 years of experience and do not want to spend time filling in information about every job I have ever had and why I left, where I went to school, emergency contacts, etc on their application, only to never hear from the company and would prefer just to e-mail a resume with a cover letter. Be very careful when applying to SoftScript. They have many openings but I have applied, when through the testing, got an interview, but they never called and when trying to find answers they never respond.
