I've narrowed my job search down to two companies, one of which is Transolutions.

Trying to find out if there's anything positive to be said about Transolutions.

They were not the right fit for me but might be for you. I found them EXTREMELY picky about scheduling and everything really. It just seemed to be they made things much more complicated than they needed to be. They are constantly "on you" it seems, but then that could have just been my experience. I just need a little less structured company

Honestly, I used to love it here; however, with the advent of SR my income has taken a serious dive. I just can't seem to get back up to where I used to be, and my paychecks are hurting. Not a lot of straight transcription anymore.

Unlike the poster above, I find scheduling to be flexible; however, that is just my experience and may just be my account. There has been plentiful work on my account and my secondary account, but again that just may be my personal experience!

I do believe the benefits are reasonable compared to other companies.

All in all, fairly good company; however, the drop in pay has really hurt.

Can you give me an idea of how big a drop in pay you experienced? What you earned pre-SR and what you earned post-SR?

Pre-SR, I would generally bring home between 1100 to 1200 every two weeks (after taxes). Now, I am extremely lucky if I get 1000, but more usually it's between 800 and 900. Quite a drop! Unfortunately, my bills haven't dropped, so it's been tough.

Now, I'm even more depressed after "seeing it in writing." :(

I'm sorry to hear that, sm...:( Is it because of the slowness of the SR platform, bad dictators or something else?

Do you get any shift and/or weekend differential pay? QA bonuses? I know they offer all that stuff.

This is my first time with SR, but from what I have heard from others, M-Modal is NOT the best platform for productivity! I think it should be better than it is, but again I have nothing else to compare it to. The dictators aren't bad at all (the ones I transcribe/edit for anyway). A problem I have personally is I am proofreading and double-checking more than I should be ~ I believe they call it over-editing? Do you know what I mean? I have been told not to do this, but it's been hard to break the pattern. I believe there is room for improvement, and it's something I am working on.

Yes, we do get monthly QA bonuses (98% and above), plus shift and weekend differential pay.

Do you work weekends? Do you work 2nd or 3rd shift?

Just trying to get an idea as to whether there'd be more money if you got weekend and/or shift differential.

I do work Saturdays during the day. The usual schedules are Sunday through Thursday and Tuesday through Saturday. I generally work better in the evenings (I'm really not much of a morning person), so I generally work a split shift with the first shift in the late morning/early afternoon and the second shift in the evenings. I really don't know if I would be classified as second or third shift since I probably work a bit in both along with a little of first shift!

Another thing that is nice about Transolutions is that there is a 1-hour window regarding starting/stopping shift time; for example, if your shift starts at 10 a.m., you can start working as early as 9 a.m. or as late as 11 a.m. without having to notify scheduling. I do like that!

Decent company, but as I've said numerous times before the M-modal platform in combination with their software STINKS!! It is very slow and there is a lag when loading and also sending a job. This adds up. Also, I find that many times when I'm editing my fingers are actually moving FASTER than the software allows. This just amazes me. I soo wish they had gone with Escription but perhaps they just couldn't afford it. I, too, have taken at least a $30-$40 A DAY pay cut using this platform doing VR.

I also think it's odd that they tell us not to "over-edit" yet they dock us and watch us like crazy for errors. I have found it very difficult to make a good VR line count with this software without taking the time to read through it carefully every time to avoid errors. I've also heard that QA might be getting stricter soon as well to boot.

Again, I think it's too bad because they are a decent company, just definitely need better software.

Much like the other person, I've seen about a $400-$500+ per paycheck (that's 80 hours/2 weeks) reduction in pay since using M-Modal VR. Used to be anywhere between $1500-$1800 PPP and now is between $1000-$1300.

As for QA, there is a quality "bonus" that is paid based on score. The lower your monthly score the less bonus you get. Below 98% it is not given at all.

I have a job offer from Transolutions, but I have a couple of questions. I use Instant Text and I need to know if their platform is compatible with it. This would definitely be a dealbreaker for me. Medical Transcription just keeps going downhill. They expect more and pay less. I work for Accentus now and actually love my account and got my pay up to 5 cents for SR and 9 cents for transcription, but I have to work 10 hours a day just to make ends meet. They pay based on how many lines you type per hour so it can change every pay period. It's better than what I had at Transcend. The only thing is that my supervisor is a narcissist, very mean, tears you down ...
