Transolutions - What's the consensus? - Kathy

Posted: Jun 28, 2011

I don's see a lot about this company anywhere. What's the consensus? Thanks everyone in advance.

Another questionable service in Lake Bluff, Ill. - anon

Years ago, when they were new, got all the paperwork to fill out for being an employee but never heard anything from that point on. Did hear from an ex-Transsolution QA who said the pay was horrible. I am sure it still is.

Transolutions' pay - MT

That is odd, to not see any other posts concerning pay being horrible, or much anything else for that matter.

odd you say? Show me a service that pays not so odd. - anon

Transolutions took over many people's jobs and closed in-house departments. An extremely nice lady who was the lead and a human being who QAd work like it should be...with "help" and not belittling the transcriber, or feeling she was above you, was the one who told me that she thought it was horrible in what they paid the MTs and I believe at that time it was 6 cents a line. It is probably 7 cents now!! Oh...that was probably 8 or 9 years ago. Oh, I guess the cost of living went down since then. The pay rate at that time was 8 cents a typed line. I would guess that they still pay 7 cents. Maybe you can find out the actual truth to what they are actually paying now, but we have VR now so, I am sure they are paying 3 cents instead of the 4. But who came up with 3 and 4? 3 and 4 was what I heard that they were paying India.
Odd - MT

I was not referring to the pay being odd, and I know the going pay today for MT as well as the cost of milk and everything else that keeps going up while the pay goes down. I was referring it being odd to there not being much talk about pay at this company, or much else as compared to other companies. To me, I take that as maybe a good sign as compared to others.

I just hired on and my pay is nowhere near that low. Maybe you are thinking of another company, or else I just got really lucky, but I have it in writing. I am experienced in acute care.

First, they pay by VBC, but their lines are 55 versus the 65 with spaces. I checked about 5 large documents and calculated lines with spaces at 65/line, and without spaces at 55 per line, and they were extremely close, and in many cases identical. They pay bonuses by LPH, not total lines, and the bonuses seem reasonable. You also get bonuses for a low percentage to QA and for quality. I am looking forward to starting with them. The pay I was offered is a LOT more than what you mention above. So don't rule them out, at least talk with them and see what is offered! As I said, I have not actually started yet, but do have the rates and bonuses confirmed in my contract.

Thank you! That really helps me make a decision, and you are right. I just average one with and without.

I currently work for Transolutions and have been there since 2007. I don't think it's a horrible place to work at all. I personally took a hit with the implementation of SR and saw my paycheck plummet, but I think that happened across the board with many of us. The work is steady and the insurance is affordable. Hope this helps!

If you don't mind my asking, do you happen to know approximately what the cost is for family health insurance? This is something I need to consider covering for my family, and Transolutions was one place I heard was somewhat affordable. TIA!

family health insurance (sm) - dln

Family coverage: Pay period contribution is $235 (full-time), $301.75 (part-time) for the high-deductible plan. For the $500 deductible plan, the pay period contributions are a bit higher. $367.50 pay period contribution (full-time), $442 (part-time). The in-network deductible for the high-deductible plan is $4000 for family (it's $2000 for individual). The in-network deductible for the $500 deductible plan is, obviously, $500 for individual and $1000 for family. Obviously out-of-network costs are much higher.

I myself am single so obviously don't utilize the family health insurance... I'm therefore not sure if those are good rates or not! They do seem very high to me, but I just don't know what other companies are offering.

I hope this helps a bit! If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me!

Could you say what the rates are for single insurance? Thanks.
here you go (sm) - dln

I myself have the individual high-deductible plan which is $57 pay period deduction (I'm part-time). It's $37 pay period deduction if you're full-time.

For the $500 deductible plan, it's $80.25 pay period deduction if you're full-time and $102.50 pay period deduction if you're part-time.

Again, the individual deductible for the high-deductible plan is $2000 (in-network) and $500 (obviously) for the $500 deductible plan. Out-of-network costs are much higher.

BTW, the carrier is United Health.

Hope this helps!

I applied there in June and was contacted by a recuiter, I was pretty impressed. The insurance rates for an individual were affordable, was told they offered internet reimbursement, the pay sounded fair. I was told they were hiring all summer and would be contacted by an account manager, never heard anything. I followed up and asked them to return my call, still have not heard anything. I'm disappointed but leery of anyone who won't return phone calls.

Job Offer From Transolutions
Jun 09, 2010

I have a job offer from Transolutions, but I have a couple of questions.   I use Instant Text and I need to know if their platform is compatible with it.  This would definitely be a dealbreaker for me.   The opinions of the company I read on this board were not very favorable -- slow speech rec program,  too much speech rec, etc.  But all the opinions were at least 2 years old.  Is there any more current information out there?   The pay scale is very enticing, but if the ...

Transolutions Few Positions Available
Jun 02, 2011

When I spoke with the recruiter, it sounded like there were just a few positions available. Yet, another recruiting ad showed up on Tuesday evening at another major MT recruiting website. So, I'm wondering, is the recruiter using the old trick of sounding like I'd better jump and grab one of those "few" positions, or did a bunch of people who were already hired suddenly quit? I wonder why Transolutions has had so many recruiting ads lately. Again, I was told that there were only ...

ACCENTUS/TRANSOLUTIONS
Mar 20, 2012

Medical Transcription just keeps going downhill.  They expect more and pay less.  I work for Accentus now and actually love my account and got my pay up to 5 cents for SR and 9 cents for transcription, but I have to work 10 hours a day just to make ends meet.  They pay based on how many lines you type per hour so it can change every pay period.  It's better than what I had at Transcend.  The only thing is that my supervisor is a narcissist, very mean, tears you down ...

How Are Things At Transolutions These Days?

Hi, I'm looking at Transolutions and haven't seen a lot of current info on the boards about them. Wondering about the quality of the SR and editing.
