Transcend Peds Accts - superfly

For those working on the Transcend Peds accounts, especially the newest one, are you finding enough work to fill your shift?

I'm not on that account, but... - I seem to be on the email loop

and I get frequent e-mails asking the SWAT team members to please jump over and help on that account, because they don't want anything bad to happen, new account, very prestigious institution, etc., let's make a good impression and not let it go out of TAT, and so on.

This leads me to believe there is indeed plenty of work, if they're asking the SWAT team to step in and help out. But I could be wrong.

I was put on the largest new account Transcend had with the SWAT team. Within about 6 weeks a lot of the work started being sent offshore, even though I was told that would not happen when I asked before I was transferred. Within a few more weeks all of the easier doctors were being sent offshore and the more difficult work was left here for us.

Don't think because there is a lot of work now that will continue..trust me!

I finally gave up and resigned from Transcend just a few days before my 7th anniversary.

The peds account I am talking about - is newer than 6 weeks

I never said I was on a peds account, so I don't think you really read what I posted or even understood what I was trying to say as far as that goes.

I wanted to specifically address peds. Not everyone qualifies to work on the peds accounts, which leads me to believe they are different than their general work pools of acute care. I get your point, however, that you were promised work on a new acct and it quickly dried up.

To the MT on Peds, thanks for the info. I think I'll accept the offer and give it a whirl!

I just saw a job ad on another forum for Transcend on their peds account. I've seen these posted before and never really paid much attention to them, but this one caught my eye. It said it was for a children's teaching hospital in FL that was currently straight typing but would be going to 85% VR in a few months and had less than 30% ESL. I think it is a shame that the accounts lost were both to Medquist - the company that screwed the MTs with line counting and pay and screwed its customers by cheating them out of millions of dollars (see Kaiser settlement of $2 million dollars last week). These accounts are going off shore with lesser skilled labor and quality. What is ironic is that while MedQuist continues to shrink in revenue growth from quarter to quarter, they will still pick off a few accounts from hospitals ...

Okay, I am still a bit confused. I admit I have been spoiled by being an IC for years. I have a chance to pick up a couple of side accounts, but after talking to them they just think they can dictate into something at my home and I will magically be able to hear their dictation. Well, good luck with that. If my regular accounts are out of work (because some other MTs seamlessly and effortlessly rotated on and it's all caught up), great. Did VR develop Alzheimer's? It has lost everything. I am tired of no commas, periods, and everything else it reverted back to since its infancy. I am curious as to if the TLs are meeting their requirements. They are expected to type 75-80% of their time and get paid by the line as well . I am very suspicious that they are not typing VR all day, having their work sent to India, etc, and are getting the straight typing. They get paid a flat fee per month for their administrative duties on top of that. I wonder if they are experiencing no work and looking at a blank screen most of their time& ...

I have read dozens of posts on the board about Transcend, some good and a lot not so good. However, I think there is an explanation for some MTs loving it there and others hating it so much. Transcend is a company made up of many other companies through mergers. The original Transcend who existed first, before acquiring other companies seems to be the problem. I was with the company for over five years, not once failing to meet the requirements of me yet I was told my position would have to change to 2nd or 3rd shift if I wanted to keep my job as there were no positions available for 1st shift. Did anyone else get the memo from Transcend (soon to take over from DTS) about the line rate change for the transitioning employees from DTS? It was elegantly written, but basically it said that when the accounts are switched over the VR that the line rates will decrease but productivity will increase and no cut in pay is expected. It has been mentioned that Wmx has lost 2 large accounts that is the reason for people being let go. Transcend has mentioned in the last few months about acquiring a new large account in September. Was at least one of these 2 large accounts, if not both, acquired by Transcend??? ...
