I have recently started with a company that has been "somewhat bashed here." However, it is straight typing and if get "mush mouth" repeatedly, I can call or email and they will change my pool. I can talk to the VP, and she LISTENS to what I have to say. I got a call today from tech support and it was to the effect of "what can we do to make your job easier?"

It's IC status, they recently ran and ad and were SWAMPED! I feel blessed to be wolrking for this company. Even when I did the transcription portion, I left blanks. I have over 30 years experience, and for once a company that will go to bat for the MTs if a lot of blanks are left. They are small, but I prefer it that way :)

If something is what it is and you say that the 'bashing' is unfair, then why would you not correct it and name the company that you feel is so wrongly bashed so that you can clear their name and reputation for maybe others to reconsider in hopes that the company has learned from their prior mistakes...maybe. And how would you know they were "swamped" with everyone out there just waiting to get into this erroneously 'bashed company' that turns out to take away all the horrible dictators just for you...and give them to...?...oh, someone else...?

If it is good, one would think others would want to know...no? I was warned about some services and knew that when going into it, but figured I could bear with it all...we need to work and we all basically love the job. I eventually found out over time that others were right...it just takes some of us longer.

They were not "bashed" in the way so many companies on here are. The company is United Transcription and they either advertised on here or on the other board and got an overwhelming response to their advertisement as far as resumes. Right now it is my understanding that they are not hiring. The accounts that they have (at least the ones that I am on) are all straight typing but they do have extremely heavy ESLs. If we have to leave a blank for some reason, we are encouraged to do so, and not penalized because we left one or several blanks. The feedback from QA comes in a timely manner and is extremely helpful.

I just got my second DEP ASR Productivity Results. If the person that has time to count mouse clicks, time spent away from keyboard, etc is reading this, then answer this, why don't you take into account time spent reading multiple client profiles, time spent reading sample reports to get information, etc? I have over 30 years in this field and it seems that a lot of companies are either cutting the MT's pay to edit on ASR and/or are offshoring work out to India, Pakistan, Philippines, etc. I don't believe in sending our jobs overseas, and I've also given ASR at whirl (a long whirl lol) and I still couldn't increase my lines per hour to compensate for the cut in pay that I had to take by doing ASR. Would you be able to perform at that level? I'm sure there are some of you that say you consistently produce 100% quality and at least 400 lines an hour. I'm not talking to you. Well, it seems as if the outsource bug has hit again. I don't know how my hospital transcription department managed to stay intact for so many years but we are officially being given the boot in 2 weeks.
