Hi everyone:) Over 500 people have looked at my message about Terra Nova, but no one has come forward to tell me anything about the company. There has to be someone who has heard about it. Thanks!

I worked there several years ago. They are based in Canada. At the time they didn'take out taxes etc., but that changed. I honestly don't remember about the workload or why I left. I know that doesn't help much, but at least I answered. Wish I could have helped more.

I was hired by Terra Nova and I am due to start working as soon as I have training. I don't know anything, except that for 3 months you are an IC and if you do well during that time they hire you as a full-time employee of their company.

Would someone explain to me how is that this company can legally pay us a lower rate for ASR compared to transcription? After they pushed ASR on me, (said that I wouldn't ever get a 50:50 ratio of ASR to transcription) I am getting mostly ASR work. My pay has dropped significantly. Can they do this? ...

Since the advent of voice recognition and overseas outsourcing, transcription has ceased to be a profession. I will NEVER -- repeat, NEVER make the money I was making as a transcriptionist at a hospital 5 years ago, before we were replaced by VR and cheap outsourcing to India.
