I have always been very happy with the accounts in my work pool and I am definitely not happy that they are going to be changing. I'm also less than thrilled with VR starting. Between the new work pools and VR, I already see my paychecks going down significantly. I'm dusting off my resume and am going to start looking elsewhere. Synernet used to be a great company to work for, but that certainly isn't the case anymore, which is really too bad.

When I hired on, I was so excited -- great benefits, affordable insurance, straight typing -- but the bloom is fading from the rose. Communication is horrible, and now this awful work pool idea. And of course there is the lovely VR looming over my head, which when I hired on I was told was a "remote possibility, not likely to happen." Of course, after doing this forever, I suppose I was the fool for believing anything that is told to me. This is very disheartening and I feel powerless to change anything at the company, so I suppose it is time to see what else is out there.

are they vengeful... sometimes give really bad reports sometimes when they seem stressed. or do I just get bad reports coincidentally when things are getting a little gnarly.. either way I don't like this.

How rapidly is this stuff supposed to start with VR? I don't know anything about Dolbey VR. I do know other VR programs I have worked with have been awful! So, really nervous about this junk. Good luck all with this transition, I think we are all going to need it.

so you would probably have been notified if you were affected. I know the account that involves the hospitals that recently merged is one of the VR accounts. I really don't know much. I'm not a big fan of VR but nothing I can do about it. I hope communication improves once they increase the supervisors and such. Hard to work in the dark, not knowing anything. Good luck to you as well. I think you're right -- we are all going to need it (or maybe just need good job-seeking skills to try yet another place and hope for the best).

I think what gets my goat so much about the switching to VR is the fact they take away CPL, especially only having 2 weeks at regular pay and then taking away money. I venture to guess it is going to take more than 2 weeks to become acclimated to the VR. This just makes me so sad. No matter where we run, things like this are always going to happen. I love working from home and being able to be with my family more, but truly I think a lot of us are going to have to find something else if we want stability.

Have never heard of them, are they out of Utah? If that's the one, I didn't see anything on their web site about MT or working from home. Do you have any more information?

Between the training new accounts for everyone, the training for VR for everyone, being QAd on a lot of things. Wow. Stress city. Not for me. I do my best and that's all I can do. What more can be asked.

I think all of us as MTs do the best we can not to leave a blank. But, if after listening and attempting to figure it out, it goes to QA. Most of my blanks are because I can't even understand the dictator well enough to look something up -- I totally can't understand him/her! So .... out of nowhere, they throw us on new accounts and on the 2nd day we get a snarky note from QA. My give a darn is getting busted real quick.

I agree. I was really surprised about that e mail. Not the time to get people even more upset with something like that. I had to hit delete. That one certainly was not a confidence booster in any way, shape, or form!

Exactly! I never leave blanks unless I cannot understand what they say! What happens if you legitimately can't understand what is being said, and you try and look, but who has time to look through 30 or 40 reports before they find it or "think" they have found what they said. Especially when you are working for production. This is getting ridiculous. I dread logging on each day.

I worked for a little company that was truly an awesome company to work for, then we had word we were merging with another company, promised this, promised that, and the next thing you know so many things changed. They slowly started taking away certain things like our 500 dollar longevity bonuses, then our downtime pay, and then they started picking us to death on QA. I was finally laid off with a bunch of others and now that company is no more. It seems like when the squeeze is felt from the company, then something bad is sure to follow. I am so tired of searching. I haven't been at Synernet for too long, but just enough to realize what a mistake I made in joining this place. :O(

Work Pools/performance Punishment... What To Do?

It has become obvious that a company is putting us in work pools, NOT to get improved TAT, but to either play favorites or to give the primo/better dictators to the MTs who cannot handle the crappiest dictators.  I have noted that I have had the same lousy dictators over and over again, no matter what time of day I work or which days of the week.   I never seem to get the ones that I consider better dictators, nor do I seem to be getting the long consults (which I also like).  ...

I have an interview with them coming up. They seem like they have a good reputation and the benefits look really good. One thing I am wondering about them is just how flexible are the schedules? For example, right now I am able to work a regular 2nd shift position with no problem (I currently work 2nd shift and prefer it to other shifts), but when school starts my kids will have sports and Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts and I have to take them to their meetings. Can anyone tell me approximately how many lines I'd need to type a day to make... lets say 80-85 dollars a day?  I'd appreciate any rough ideas please. Anyone out there working for Synernet who has also worked for other companies?  I was an IC before joining Synernet a few years ago.  They are paying me .7 cpl, no flexibility unless per-diem and then per-diems still have to work 2 holidays a year, lots of vaca time but can't use 2 weeks in the summer until I've been there 10 years, management impossible to get response from regarding any type of question, just got thrown into weekend rotation, etc.  After looking at boards I see th ...
