I have an interview with them coming up. They seem like they have a good reputation and the benefits look really good.

One thing I am wondering about them is just how flexible are the schedules? For example, right now I am able to work a regular 2nd shift position with no problem (I currently work 2nd shift and prefer it to other shifts), but when school starts my kids will have sports and Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts and I have to take them to their meetings. The place I currently work at, they are very flexible and we are allowed to do that sort of thing as long as our hours work out to 8 a day and line counts add up.

The one thing that stuck out to me about Synernet is that it seems like it might be pretty inflexible? Any input about this or the company itself would be great. I hate to go through interviews if I know it won't even be possible.

Ask them when you have the interview, it's probably something you'd need to work out with your manager. Some employers allow you to flex, some don't. A lot of it would probably depend on the account you are assigned. If you have a lot of stat requests on your account or a very tight turnaround time they may make you stick to a strict schedule, every situation is different. They don't do it to be "inflexible," they have clients that they need to keep happy.

They prefer you to stick to your schedule. They have been looking for a looooong time for the second and third shifts, and I am an EX-synMT, if they are still hiring, those accounts must be busy, and may not allow for as much flexibility. Benefits are NOT good.

You should verify this when you interview. My experience is that you'd better be working the exact shift you agreed to without excuse. PERIOD.

Synernet needs their employees to stick to a schedule. You could ask for a variation once in a great while and probbly get it, but pretty much have to work your schedule. As far as the person who said the benefits were not good, I totallt disagree. They have the best benefits I have found with any MT company. You work hard and they will reward you. You need to be organized and disiplined to work for them. It's not for everyone. Just like anywhere else, it fits some and not others. I am lucky to have found it fits me well. Always busy and great work and platform.

First the dire email: Mandatory OT by end of week with at least 2 hours on Saturday. Just forget if you had plans for the weekend. Say what time you will be working and have to work those hours and put who okay'd those hours on your timesheet (you might lie you know). Anyone out there working for Synernet who has also worked for other companies? I was an IC before joining Synernet a few years ago. Just curious, I'm trying to decide between a few companies and I totally forgot to ask the interviewer. I think the whole VBC thing is criminal. I was reading the ad posted by Synernet and thought it sounded quite decent, what with benefits and incentive plan, etc., then I noticed their ad has 4 "dislikes." Does anyone who clicked that "dislike" button care to explain here why? If there's something about the company that isn't in line with the ad, I'd love to know before I bother testing and applying. TIA! ...
