Anyone ever applied to Synernet and been rejected saying you did not pass their test? I just completed an online assessment and they said I did not pass it, which is bull crap. I would stake my life on it that I DID pass it. What is their problem? I have been working for 38 years and I certainly know everything they asked. I want to see the results.

I think those things are rigged, then they advise that you take a course with their MT school. If an employer wants you to test with MTTest, i refuse and move onto something else. I have also asked in the past to see documentation of what I missed or did not pass, and they refused to allow me to see my own test. they said it was their property.

Yes, I did and I've got 21 yrs exp and been QA for 9. I have been thinking that there must be something else they are looking for. Maybe it is the pay that I "desire." Not sure but don't let it get to you, I was sort of mad at first and then figured since they wont tell you what you missed, they are probably lying.

That test is a piece of garbage. I know many very experienced MTs who did not pass it. But, I agree with other poster. Consider yourself lucky you did not leap into this mess of a company. It's pathetic and most people hate it here.

I passed their test but didn't pass their internet speed connection, and all the other companies I work for didn't have a problem with it. I think it was the uploading part. But other companies never had a problem.

Maybe it's because you are from a state that has - employee-friendly labor laws,

like California (and several others). They don't want to hire from certain states, esp. CA, because CA labor laws regarding things like companies being required to pay for internet, overtime after 8 hours per day, and the law dealing with OOW. They are too greedy to do things fairly, but they don't want to ADMIT this so just tell you that you failed. I am sure you, like me, know DARN well when we pass or fail a test.

I am sure if you did not pass it was truly because you did not get 80 or above, which is passing. This test is 100% legit and there is no funny business going on. Applicants are not given the specifics of the results because there are way too many to go through. These are checked and scored by the QA coordinators. The right answers are what they are. They follow the BOS. Many people love working at this company and have been there for many years. If you work there and are not happy, quit complaining and do something about it. I am very happy there. I have had a couple if friends apply and fail also, but many have also passed. Just move on and if you choose you can test again in 6 months. It's normal the Debbie Downers who post here and not the ones who I are happy because they do it care to listen to all the negativity. And think what you want, but I am NOT management, just someone defending a great place to work, great benefits, and nice people.

I have an interview with them coming up. They seem like they have a good reputation and the benefits look really good. One thing I am wondering about them is just how flexible are the schedules? First the dire email: Mandatory OT by end of week with at least 2 hours on Saturday. Just forget if you had plans for the weekend. Say what time you will be working and have to work those hours and put who okay'd those hours on your timesheet (you might lie you know). I am applying for a job with Synernet and will be testing tomorrow. Can anyone tell me approximately how many lines I'd need to type a day to make... lets say 80-85 dollars a day? Anyone out there working for Synernet who has also worked for other companies? I was an IC before joining Synernet a few years ago. They are paying me .7 cpl, no flexibility unless per-diem and then per-diems still have to work 2 holidays a year, lots of vaca time but can't use 2 weeks in the summer until I've been there 10 years, management impossible to get response from regarding any type of question, just got thrown into weekend rotation, etc. After looking at boards I see th ...

Just curious, I'm trying to decide between a few companies and I totally forgot to ask the interviewer. I think the whole VBC thing is criminal. It's bad enough not being paid for all of the research, demographics and CCs we do, but to not pay for characters that we actually type just because they don't print out in black and white is OUTRAGEOUS!!! ...

I was reading the ad posted by Synernet and thought it sounded quite decent, what with benefits and incentive plan, etc., then I noticed their ad has 4 "dislikes." Does anyone who clicked that "dislike" button care to explain here why? If there's something about the company that isn't in line with the ad, I'd love to know before I bother testing and applying.
