OTI what is happening to the account - MT

they over-hired for -- 70 MTs?  There was not enough work to keep the 70 MTs busy when the account was flowing and now the account has dwindled to few jobs or NJA.  Were you you given back up accounts?  TY

When the account was out of TAT, they threatened to overstaff the account and apparently they did. The policy now seems to be just negative reinforcement, no positives.

the big over hire happened either, rather ignored, and don't believe A's "all good" report either. No reward or loyalty from OTI regardless if worked every weekend, every holiday. I noticed the slow down before the holidays, busy over the holidays with people taking off, and then immediately after the first of the year a big drop off that continues. OTI/Oracle nothing separates you from the rest of your kind.

They hired a friend of mine 3 weeks ago on the T account. I wonder how many others they hired. I have never seen it this slow on the weekends. I love the account but I can't continue to have no jobs available.

I am not on the T account but have 3 other accounts that all have literally had only a few jobs a day since the holidays. I try to work at night and on weekends as well and still nothing. I cannot hold on much longer.

Could there be a sale/merger in the works? I do NOT have any information pro or con, just wondering. I used to work for MDI and this is exactly what happened before they sold us (out) to Transcend. Just saying.

I've been in this situation a few times in 30 years - and it is only one or a combination of a few things:

- They have grossly overhired and over staffed the accounts
- The work has been outsourced
- The company is being sold

Sadly, it's true for those who have consistently worked weekends, holidays, at weird hours there is no loyalty to those MTs - it's a "get it and growl" situation. If the work is there get it, and if not just growl. It gets old. What else is getting old is the "company beatdown." One MT makes a mistake and they send everyone to the whipping post with a threatening e-mail about being terminated. Since we've had more of those backlashing emails lately it screams - new MTs on the account.

Time and patience will fix this as some get sick of having no work and move on pruning the pool of available MTs. Why doesn't someone at OTI have the management skills to lay of the last people hired? Because it's never been about MTs, it's always been about OTI and they know all too well some of us will just get tired of fighting for work and go away.

I am on multiple accounts and NONE of them have had much work at all since after the holidays. Even the ones that are normally busy with lots of work have practically nothing at all.

I have two theories: One is that they overhired, something they have been prone to do in the past. This is what probably happened since they actually sent out that email right around the holidays which threatened to over staff the account.

Or second theory is that this is strangely reminiscent of how things went over at MDI just right before MDI sold out to Transcend. At MDI, right before the news of the sell-out, the work had dwindled down to practically nothing too.

I think it's that OTI overhired again, but either way, it's not good.

I begged for a secondary account and "there is nothing available now" even though A just sent out an email for 2 accounts needing help. I have been working on T since it was acquired by OTI.

I am also shocked at the email that A sent regarding MTs sending work with incorrect patient names and MRNs. It was stated that these MTs âwill likely be removedâ from said account and âmay or may not get a replacement account.â It is interesting that such a critical error only receives a mere warning. Considering these sloppy MTs would be allowed to continue to work speaks loudly for OTIâs willingness to sacrifice quality for quantity; this will cost us all when these clients go elsewhere for better service. OTI suffers from a lack of business acumen across all levels.

I truly hope this comes back and bites them in the tush. sm - unhappy @ OTI

I have been there for 2 years now and have been relatively happy but this last stunt of overhiring and leaving me starving for lines is disgusting and makes me lose all respect for them. They obviously care nothing for my well being, so I see no reason I should care for their status either. Fortunately, I have another job and can just switch over to full time, which I will do with no regrets.

people off the T account, saying there was not enough work for the in-house people. No warning .. just *boom* ... one day you have work, the next day you do not. Then 2 days later they act like nothing is happen and ask everyone to come back to work on the account. They have kind of used up any good feelings I had about them.

started in November. Simply over hired. Do the math; 70 MTs even doing 50 minutes a day each is way over what this account is. My house payment of $458.00 I will not be able to make come February, let alone have money to buy food or gas. Yet I am to have patience. Unbelievable. The docs and management brought in VR, and now there are too many MTs and not enough work.   Our workflow went from hundreds of jobs with overtime on a regular basis to barely anything left to type.  The company for which I work is not an MTSO, but a fiirm with local clinics, plus docs doing reports for other clinics/hospitals.  Luckily, we MTs work at home and are fortunate to get paid hourly, so during our slow times, we can either take PTO (if we have it) or wait for more ...

Starting this morning, about 3/4 of my reports (which I HAD NOT sent to QA, i.e. did not  check the box), are returning to me with QA feedback.  What with FTR this could really go against my submission rate.  I rarely send to QA, maybe 1-2 a day at most.  Anyone else having this happen, a technical glitch, or am I losing it ?  TIA !   ...

Did anyone ever contact a hospital after your account was lost to find out where it went and you were still employed with the former MTSO that had the account.  Concerned about doing this if the hospital were to contact the MTSO and still employed there but not overly happy anymore.  I would rather keep this confidential until I at least find out if the new MTSO is even hiring for the account, etc.  ...
