We've all heard the rotten about Nuance, but can anyone say they are happy at Nuance and if so, share....Thanks in advance.

This is all based on my team leads and my account.

Pro: The people are incredibly nice and helpful.

Pro: The platform (EditScript)is super good.

Pro: Most of the VR I have gotten isn't too shabby.

Pro: The account I am assigned to has a TON of work (and I mean a TON).

Pro: The account I am assigned to has mostly great dictators (even the ESL aren't that bad and samples are readily available).

Sort of Con: Low pay, but pretty much standard pay at any MTSO at this point.

Con: QA is truly awful. They are the most nit picking QA I have ever had to endure.

If you are an English Goddess and a medical terminology demon, it ain't too shabby.

I thought it was just me. I just started with Nuance a couple of weeks ago and am still non-DSP. I have been sending at least one correction report dispute daily because of the nitpicking. It also didn't help that the MT instructions did not download for any of the jobs I was working on until a day ago, when support finally figured out the problem, so I got dinged for only following account specs and not the unavailable MT instructions. So frustrating! I got a major error-wrong date of service for not putting the date of discharge at the top of a report - uh, helloooo, I selected the right date of service, just didn't have the MTIs to tell me that the discharge date needed to be added to the top. Every correction dispute I sent I made sure to let them know I was not receiving the MTIs and it took almost two full weeks before a super QC finally realized there was a problem - she was the first one to get back to me that entire time.

As far as the account that I'm working on, it's new to Nuance but not to me - I am a former MQ employee that was laid off in June after they lost this account to Nuance and just happened to get the same account as my secondary (my primary hasn't gone live yet). Since it is still new to Nuance, I have a ton of transcription work - way more than VR at this point.

EditScript seems fairly easy to work with - no complaints other than the MTIs not downloading like they should have. The few VR reports I have done were better than the same dictators on DQS when I worked for MQ. Definitely more accurate - not perfect, but better.

The pay is the same as MQ but the production minimum is higher. No idea about benefits yet - don't really need them since my family is covered by my hubby's insurance.

Would you share with us your thoughts about the quality of the insurance, whether you provide your own equipment, and what an easily achievable line rate per hour would be? That would help us a lot. Thank you!

I don't need the insurance, so I cannot answer that question. At a glance, it looked pretty standard, as far as insurance goes. Pretty spendy for a family but looked reasonable for single.

You do provide your own equipment.

Easily achievable line rate per hour is a tough question. I am on an account with plenty of work but it does have some fairly difficult dictators. I am pretty new and right now 300 LPH editing is acheivable. I won't comment on typing because the amount of straight typing is almost nil.

I would say once I am comfortable with short cuts, can wean myself from the mouse and get comfy with account specifics, 400+ lph would be easily acheivable.

At 0.04 cpl, my goal is a minimum of 300 or it isn't worth it and that is still only $12/hr.

Thank you for the info. What platform are you using? I am currently working on the new Enterprise platform through Webmedx and find it so cumbersome (plus an account with tons of mush-mouthed dictators) that consistently getting 200 lph is difficult. I hope you reach your 400 lph soon!

EditScript. I have to say I am very impressed with the VR. I am not saying it is error free, it's not. But even with the ESL's it isn't too bad. I haven't had any problems with sound quality at all.

I have heard from a couple of other people who are on the same account I'm on that they think the ESL is heavy and bad. But, I have been with another company doing the most horrific ESL on Earth so for me it's a notch or too up.

For me, I love the platform, love the account, got an amzaing schedule, and have found Nuance to be a much better company than some of the people on here have made it sound. That is just my experience so far, but overall I am pretty happy with it.

According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work? Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore. I was reading an article in the newspaper that a journalist was talking about a few days ago regarding the hospital outsourcing to the Web/Nuance, and the spokesperson for the hospital said in the article that the company only employs US MTs. ...

If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay. Is this true? Because if so that means they dont take into consideration years of experience, opportunity for increase or nothing. Seems kind of hard to work for an obviously big and successful company that is only willing to pay their employees 0.41 cpl and thats it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I received an incentive bonus this paycheck (for the first time ever). My QA score was 99.3%. So, I get an email today from my supervisor that my latest audit was only 98.2% and they are going to reaudit me in 2 weeks to see if my score is improving or if I need further disciplinary action. In house just got outsourced to Nuance. In our meeting, they said the PTO is 10 days total, which you have to use for holidays and sick time as well. So, if you take all 6 holidays (if that is even possible), you get 4 days off a year? Not even a week for vacation left over. I AM SO LIVID! These QCs are unbelievable! I used "and" instead of "the" and the QC marks me off for English misspelling/typo which is a 0.5 error instead of an English word misuse which is less at 0.25.
