I have just recently accepted a job with keystrokes. I have read all the information on the archives. Is there anyone out there who has any recent information on this company? Appreciated!

I have been there 7 months and love it there. It depends on which account/platform you are on as to the challenges you may or may not face, but I am on escription and love it.

Pay is on time, not the greatest, but pretty adequate.

I've always wondered since we are employees of KS if they did have to pay minimum wage? Someone else mentioned this to me before, but there must be some way they get around that because I haven't made minimum wage with them working on 2 accounts in over a year!

Yes, they are required by law to pay minimum wage. If you have scheduled hours and are required to sit there and monitor the account and there is no work, they are required to pay minimum wage. MTSO' try to get around it by having MTs punch in and out, but you still have to monitor it because of scheduled hours. Check with wage and hour in your state. You can go back 2 years and collect back pay owed to you.

Look at it this way, KS was hired to keep the accounts clear, you are monitoring the account for free and not making any money. The only ones benefiting is the account and KS.

I'm not as fast as I used to be, and there are times that I work the hours but do not even make minimum wage. They are the only company I have ever worked for that has made up the difference.

When I worked for another company that is mentioned here, they did not. The Department of Labor told me that as long as you clock in and out, they do not have to pay you for the time you are not working.

Have you asked for a different account?

KS is a lot better than most of the companies out there, although I am sure the trolls will start po - KS MT

I have been with KS for 12 years. There have been ups and downs, but I stuck it out and things improved. Is the pay high? Not but it's in line with other companies. Is there a lot of work? On my account yes, but I had to move from radiology to HIM to get enough work with radiology started going to VR.

My manager is fair, but leaves me alone as long as I do my job. QA is OK; they are good for filling in blanks when I can't understand something, but they can be a bit picky sometimes.

There are a lot of people at KS who have been there a long time, and a lot of them do not come to these boards.

The boards have become so negative the last few years; I come only rarely and keep hoping they will improve.

If you have issues at KS, go to management. They will fix the issues and help you. If you are lucky, you won't have issues and will love it there like I do.

Bad experience is an under statement. I spoke up for myself and they do not like it, I was QA'd to death and threatened with write ups constantly. It was just like being in high school with mean girls.

that does not make us 'trolls,' so just stop trying to put friction between people. The 'good' posts on KS did in fact bash the 'bad' right here in this thread by calling us trolls - open your eyes.

We've also been called liars in the past. Umm, what is that? when the truth is (no name calling here, children), some have good experiences, some bad with the Strokes. Why? Because it's a big place, not everyone works the same account, under the same leads/managers, or alongside the same MTs.

There is no right or wrong as some try to interject - there's just opinions from NOTHING OTHER than the hands on experience itself.

Does anyone know if there is a new rule in MQ land about never writing out the date, always making it numbers only? I get back reports every once in a while with all the written dates crossed out and replaced with numbers yet the CP does not specify either way. In transcription, when a doctor dictates 12/4 or December 4th what is the correct way to type this? I need this information when I'm taking a test to find a job because the doctor has not been giving the year and from what information I've read I should type out the date as December 4th?? Another question I have is on a test if the doctor transcribes out of order such as first he says medications, and then next he says social history, and then next he says chief complaint, do ...

Archives are divided -- half happy and treated well and doing the work they expected to do, paid on time, good benefits. Other half got jerked around a bit, given different kinds of work than expected, said line counts are incorrect, missed a couple of paychecks (which is strange since they do direct deposit - maybe they didn't back then.) Time zone isn't the problem. Time displayed for a ticket matches my time zone. The date is tomorrow's date, and you can't enter today's date for the ticket because it won't accept a ticket date prior to the 'expected date' (tomorrow). Can't change the expected date field either. Guess I should have filed my NJA for today yesterday ;) as there aren't any jobs for me today. I've been with Transcend just a few weeks. I know my questions were addressed during training but I guess I was on "info overload" and I can't find answers in my notes either.
