IMedX is sucking the life out of me - IMedX MT

I loved the company I worked for before IMedX took over. I type clinic notes, which is supposed to be Monday through Friday. But IMedX has come along and changed the rules. Doesn't matter that the clinics aren't even open on the weekend. Any work that comes in on Friday must be done by Saturday.

I got away from acute care and into clinic notes specifically so that I wouldn't have to work on the weekends. I do actually have a life outside of work.

First, they took away all my unused vacation time. Didn't bother to tell me that I would lose it if I didn't use it, so now it's just gone. And now they've taken away my weekends. Last month, I had two days off... TWO.. the entire month! April is almost over and I've only had two days off this month so far, too. It looks like I'll be working again tomorrow, so there goes another day off.

I'm getting burned out and could really use a break, but oh wait... no, I can't take a vacation... they've taken that away!

Why can't these companies learn that you don't keep good people by using them up until they can't take it anymore? And forget about getting a raise for all your hard work and dedication. We all know there's no such thing as a raise in this business anymore. Ugh!

Ok, vent over. If you've made it this far, thanks for putting up with my rant. I feel a little better now. And now I have to get back to work.

I was let go for not working my 20-hour week. During my shift there might not be enough work to get the corresponding average lines/hour. So what are we supposed to do? Schedule our entire day around the computer. My supervisor was awesome but I miss the company that IMedX flushed down the toilet.

it's sucking the life out of all of us. I've been shorted over 1300 lines on ExEditor and escription since the 1st of March. Don't even suggest e-mailing IT - I have - 3 times, plus their boss, and absolutely nothing.

Who even has a schedule these days? The account I've been moved to since the other one disappeared doesn't have steady work coming in until around 6 pm EST, and with the exception of Mondays and Fridays, usually trails off around 10 or 11 pm, not enough for me to even get my part-time hours with all that I have to handle in the evening hours. It has gotten to the place that whatever hours I don't have by Friday at midnight just won't get done. They need a better system period. I haven't heard from my new manager with the change in account since I've been on the account, with the exception of having my login info reset, so I don't even bother to email her after the one I did send was ignored. It's just crazy, and as soon as I find something else that fits what I'm looking for, I am out of this company and possibly this industry. It's just not worth the effort anymore. With the warmer weather and summer heading this way, I REFUSE to sit idly by this computer waiting for a few reports at a time to trickle in.

a lot of work, though the docs do dumps (3-4 hours at a pop) generally once a week, so I get behind and lose my work since I cannot keep up, so that sort of sucks, but I refuse to stay up and work through the night to stay in TAT. Paychecks blow, I am making only about 15% of what I used to before Imedx took over the company I was working for. Lost all my previous accounts to India. Once I have something else lined up to make up this pay I will be gone, trying to go FT at my other IC job but nothing available for me as yet so waiting for that.

I know pool work will be coming soon so hoping to be out by then, really hate pool work.

We don't have to have Friday work in by Saturday, as long as it is in by Monday 8am they are fine with that.

But a lot of people have quit, the lucky ones, soon I will be one of them, lol. Got three things on the backburner and once one comes through I will be gone!

Your unused vacation time - Tired

I think when one company buys another company, if any of the employees in the bought company have unused vacation time or sick leave time (or PTO) they simply lose it. Next time keep your ear to the ground and if it looks like they are going to sell, use up your time! Even if it's a false alarm and they don't sell, you will have at least gotten to use that time off. That's better than losing it.

And if you are working more than 40 hours a week, are they paying you time and a half?

I don't know why employees lose their time off when their company gets bought out but I've heard about it more than once.

The changes were ridiculous and the company they bought out was US MTs only, but that changed. I didn't even get a response to my resignation; they just deactivated my e-mail without a single word.

What or where would you turn for employment if you are finally at the end of your rope with transcription? I quit Nuance in April. I was apprehensive, but the patient safety compensation plan, where scoring 100% QA, but over 10% QC, droppping my pay week after week had taken its toll on me mentally.
