Frustration with Nuance - anon

It is almost the end of December and we (QA) still do not know how much we will be getting paid with Nuance. We keep hearing that the information is being compiled! Really???? Was our pay an afterthought?? Oh, that's right, we need to figure out how much we are paying them, so we need to compile the information! Compile what?? I am sure they have the information so what is the point in making us wait!!!!???? I am so annoyed!!!!!!!

Only point I think is they know editors arent going to be - happy, so they will wait as SM

Well, currently we are QA with Webmedx but we have not received any details at all about what our job will be, how much the pay is, nothing!!!! We were told we should hear something Monday or Tuesday, and nothing. Tomorrow is Friday, but I seriously doubt we will hear anything tomorrow. It is ridiculous!

As far as I can tell, nothing Nuance does is for the good of its employees, as you say ridiculous.

I am working for them too and the best thing about them is the payment, on time every cycle. Wonder why u r in this position. best of luck though.

I am not questioning or doubting that they pay on time every time. Although that is good to hear. : ) My problem is not knowing how much I am going to get paid.

Currently we (webmedx QA) get paid hourly. Still no word about what are pay status is going to be. I guess we won't hear anything before Christmas. Another weekend of worry and fret. Merry Christmas to us!

They should have had the QA at the same time as the MT pay compiled. If you don't mind my asking, what did QA pay at Webmedx? And does anyone who currently works at Nuance as QA that is not from Webmedx care to share what they make as QA, and my guess would be somewhere in between.

There is no excuse for this, and I'm sure you all are on pins and needles. This entire buyout was handled so very poorly, in my estimation, and right at the holidays....not good timing at all. I hope you hear something soon and that you can somehow find some merriness in this Christmas season.

I previously worked as a QA/QC/whatever for nuance. They paid by the line. I think like 15 lines for a report with blanks, and if you did a post audit (QA a report already sent to the client to score an MT) or were doing full reads on an MT they paid you full lines on the report. If I remember it was along the lines of 3 cpl with a half cent differential. if you got reports with one blank or two it was good, if you got swiss cheese it was terrible...so you do what the MTs do, send it to second level QA and move on...

QA pay is staying the same, hourly. Productivity pay @ Nuance stopped in Nov. The only change for WMX may be shift differential as that was changed for the MTs. What was QA at WMX is considered QC with Nuance.

WBX was practically famous for being a great place to work. It had an incentive and bonus plan that made it a joy to work there. Everything they did made it a quality operation back then. They even owned a school, MTec, that was also a quality operation. I used to recommend to everyone that this was one of the best places to be. Everything has now changed so much that it's not recognizable. Everybody will have to make up their own minds whether it's good or bad, but it certainly is nothing like it was.

To wait until the very end of December to compile this info is unexcusable. If you remember correctly, we were bought out by Nuance months ago. Did they not get around to figuring this stuff out until December? No way. There is a reason they wait to tell us these things. Good luck to all.

I am so frustrated at mmodal that I am literally tearing my hair out. long with OT approved and this being a regular workday for me, I have nothing!!! On top of it, we are expected to meet our minimum line counts and work our minimum hours, but how is one to do that when there is no work. I refuse to sit here 24/7 to get my PT hours in, if that is even possible right now. According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work? Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore. I was reading an article in the newspaper that a journalist was talking about a few days ago regarding the hospital outsourcing to the Web/Nuance, and the spokesperson for the hospital said in the article that the company only employs US MTs. ...

If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay. Is this true? Because if so that means they dont take into consideration years of experience, opportunity for increase or nothing. Seems kind of hard to work for an obviously big and successful company that is only willing to pay their employees 0.41 cpl and thats it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
