First week, not going well for at-home MT.
Got some feedback on files--and blank inserts! I cannot understand the dictators. I asked if QA office personnel were having a hard time literally hearing and understanding dictators also, and was told, "no." (They have templates as well as more ppl listening, too.) They believe, it is a matter of not understanding the terms. But, even if a term IS garbled in sentences--how can ya hear to know whether the term would give me a problem or not?
Then, told just today, that a portion of the file needed to be in all CAPS. Gliche' in pc system caused them to receive the files I sent late....and, this was not told to me during training. I guess, here comes the blame. I had a bad vibe today, as I usually struggle with first report. The gum chewing, opera in background at a critical, medical word, laughing, and all the other nonsense, is creating doubts. I can see why the last trans company didn't work out with RAD dept.
Like, the poster mentioned re: taking the time with a newbie online MT; employers patience wasn't the "same" today with me.
I believe, things happen, to point a person in certain directions. As much as I depise my second p/t job, I cannot leave it now. But, I will strive to move forward.
Thanks, for listening; tips.
