So far it's been a dream. I went with another big MTSO at the beginning of June (ignoring all the signs from the universe that it was a bad idea) and the difference between the two is night and day. The recruiter was great to work with (although to be fair, so was the other one). The trainer has been great so far. Some of their stuff is on VR, but most is still typing. VR is basically a when not an if, but I liked their philosophy about training and the time frame they give people to get the hang of the VR before the rate goes down. They also pay 65% of the rate for VR instead of half of the rate or less like other companies do.
The thing I really like is that even when on a Hospital account, you're assigned to a department. The big ugly MTSO I tried in June basically had all work types coming your way from all facilities. It's great if you have lots of experience in all work types, but if you're a little shaky, it can make it hard. With ExecuScribe, you're assigned to the ER or to Neurology or to Oncology with maybe cross training in other departments if they need help or you get slow. At least it's that way on the account I'm on. Trainer is very good with feedback. They also limit the number of jobs you can do per day until you get off QA (which should only be a week or so) so you don't have a lot of practice doing them wrong before you get feedback. They generally stick to the BOS, but are not slaves to it so that you're not so concerned about the formatting and appearance that you miss actual content.
It's owned by a woman who started the company in 1989 and she works very hard to combat off shoring, which was sort of refreshing.
I'm only in my first week, but so far I've been very pleased and it feels like it's a good fit. I dont' have that horrible, sinking "what in the world have I done" feeling like I did after the same amount of time with the big bloated MTSO.

Regarding Execuscribe I worked for them before and they were pretty good. I made more as an IC for another hospital but I should have stuck with them cause I had problems with the IRS, I wasn't very good at making quarterly payments. The owner is wonderful and so were the people I worked with but that was about 10 years ago. Sounds like it is even better now, we had to work on all the accounts, not just certain ones which sounds like a great idea.
I passed the test with a 98% but I did not get the job because of my experience level. That really angers me. They told me that they would keep my resume on file. How am I supposed to get a job? ...
Any current info on this company as of 2011, as in work availability, pay, etc.. I can't find them listed on the BBB's website and that concerns me. Is there another way to check on a company to see if they're legit? ...
Anyone currently work for or recently just left ExecuScribe have information they would be willing to share about how they pay? I am curious about the statement they have on their web site. How do they handle down times (no work, computer/internet not working, etc) to “ensure…federal guidelines with regards to minimum wage and over-time laws”?
Since they require testing with the application, if you are willing, could you also answer the following, so I know ...
