Does anyone know anything about StenTel? - Curious

Submitted my resume and got an Email from them today. Waiting for them to call.

was hired to QA (part-time) and there was not enough work, so I was given the option of working as an MT on the same account or be let go. Since it was a side job for me, I chose to leave. Nice people, good feedback, and when I worked for them, they paid via check, via snail mail. not sure if that has changed. good luck.

I worked for Sten-Tel for about 6 months. It was my very first MT job. In that 6 months, I may have gotten feedback 3 times. It was very few and far between. That may have worked if I was a seasoned MT, but with it being my first job, it didn't work so well. I was, however, paid ontime and correctly each month (pay was only once a month by paper check only) This was a few years ago, may have changed now. :) Good luck!

A fellow MT co-worker of mine hired on with them as part-time. It started out okay but the work just gradually began to disappear with no explanation. She would sign on and it was continually no work available. Phone calls and emails went unanswered. As other posters have said, she never received any feedback, good or bad, so assumed she was doing okay. She didn't know if they had lost the account or had just simply overhired and there wasn't enough work to go around. I think she left without them ever even noticing. She did, however, say she was paid on time...what little amount she had been able to earn.

If you're looking to them for gainful full-time employment, I'd proceed VERY cautiously.

I quit my old job to work for them, but they never had any work. - Hung out to dry.

5 to 5-1/2 per line for straight transcription/ 2-1/2 cents per line for VR. Are they out of their ever-loving minds? Anyone would be better off at a beginning clerical job that requires no skills at $10 per hour PLUS a couple of benefits, even if that just means you are an employee and have your taxes (i.e., social security, medicare) and other state/federally mandated business costs covered by the employer. I understand that Stentel pays pretty low, but I am wondering if they are negotiable or if their platform etc still allows you to make more money that a company that pays a little more. I just need to vent. I have worked for this company for 7 years and can't believe how terrible they treat their ICs. I thought they were a decent place to work but they have now shown otherwise. I have worked under 3 other account managers and never had any problems. Then, I get moved to my current manager and instead of getting paid more, I go from 0.07 cpl to 0.06 cpl, and this manager cannot be satisfied. Oh, it doesn't matter if I do good quality work, ...
