Any Current Info on StenTel? - GreatMT

Anyone currently work for StenTel in Springfield, Massachusetts? Have searched archives for recent info, but not much found except their pay is low, but isn't that true of every MTSO these days? Seems they are hiring for Oncology and ID, so would love to hear from anyone who currently works there or has recently.

StenTel dropped that low that they are offering 2 cents per line? Really? In America, where all other medical support positions are paid by the hour and respected? We are bastardized by these companies and they should be ashamed of themselves. I am disgusted and don't know what to say. I need the money so I will have to work for one but 2 cents a line is like pissing on my grave. Get EFFED STENTEL!

tell THEM how you feel. as long as someone accepts a job at that level, they will continue! pretty soon we will have to pay them for the privilege of doing their work!

If you accept a rate that low, 2-5 cents per line, you are already paying them to work for them. Consider what it costs you to do the work (internet, electricity, equipment, up keep and replacing equipment, office space, time spent when you check for work only to have no work available). Factor into that you are an IC and also have to pay self-employment taxes and your own benefits. You are not making anything - it is costing you!

So, after all is said and done, you are actually working to make only enough to pay what it costs you to work. Meaning you end up paying more than you are making to have the job.

I can only speak for me, and I CANNOT AFFORD TO WORK FOR THOSE RATES. I would have to have money from somewhere else just to meet the costs of working for a company paying that line rate.

I have worked for these people for the past 6 years. At first, it was great. Then, they lost the account I typed on and loved and since then its gone downhill. I was being paid 7 cpl for straight transcription and once they put me on another account after losing the one I was on, they LOWERED my pay to 6 cpl. And the account I am on now is an ID account which hardly ever has any work (10 reports a week if lucky) and they are hiring for ID?! Really??? I am starting a new job on Thursday thank goodness. And the account manager for ID is a total witch!!!

Is there enough work during 3rd shift? Is the platform easy to use and easy to get your lines in with? How is the health insurance? I saw the premiums for the different levels but didn't see what type of coverage this is (deductible, copays, etc.).
