I've been with Landmark for a little over a year now and love it. I do both editing and straight typing on a busy ExText account and never run out of work. They totally leave you alone to do your work and don't hound you with emails. I highly recommend checking them out.

I have worked for LM for several years and love it. The owners are American, they are honest and decent people, and they do not offshore. QA is best I have ever known--very high standards but fair and kind with feedback (and have worked for MQ, MDI, etc.) I have an adequate amount of work. I recommend them.

LM pays 3 cpl voice and 6 cpl for ST. Not even minWage. - Good/love?

How can anyone make a decent paycheck on 3 and 6 cents and then say they love it? I am confused. Maybe if we lived in India or one's husband is pulling in all the expense monies.

I told them I wouldn't work for 3 cents. We negotiated and I am happy with what I make with Landmark. They are a good company to work for, a lot of work, on time pay and they leave me alone.

I make 8 cpl for regular transcription for 4 cpl for editing. Landmark is an excellent company. I always have more than enough work and make a good living there. I also love my account, which is a huge bonus. They leave you alone to work and you rarely ever hear from anyone, which is a much needed change for me after my last company, who would send countless emails every day and micromanage like crazy. I have absolutely no complaints about Landmark. Love it there.

Although I will not post my line rate, I make a very good salary there--I am a single person and can support two of us just fine. I really welcome a company that treats me like an adult, leaves me alone to get my work done, and does not send out a meaningless e-mail every 10 minutes like my former company did.

I made 3.5 cents with 20 years experience. I doubt you make much more than that. - Ridiculous.

I agree with everything you said. Didn't know this account was going to be 90% ESL, at least that's what I'm getting in my pool. I wanted to hear someone else's opinion because right now I don't see this as a money-making endeavor. Not sure if I'm going to stick it out, but will give it a little more time. Fortunately, I have a part-time job that I can make my full-time job.

In NC, went live last Thursday. I'm new to Landmark. Seems like a good company so far, but am concerned about making money on this acct due to the percentage of ESL. Good luck, whatever your decision.

I was in the past a Landmark "cheerleader" to an extent when others would complain about them, BUT I was fairly new with them and NOW my eyes are finally open. When a person starts, the work is GLORIOUS, because they need to catch up accounts. Once you work there, your work will dwindle to smaller and smaller amounts until finally there is just NONE. When K decides to email you back (often times she doesn't) regarding lack of work she will claim the slowness of work on everything from physicians taking vacations to Groundhog Day!! Utterly ridiculous honestly! When I worked there they had ads constantly saying they were hiring, yet I had ZERO work. When I would ask her to please just put me on another account she would tell me she would have no coverage for my account. I was typing MAYBE 100 lines daily, if that!! I never had problems with quality or anything, most of the time if I left a blank, she didn't know what it was either, so I do not know the reasoning behind the way these people work. For me, I would think it would be smarter to keep those people you have had longer, who you know will work and know they do well, rather than CONTINUOUSLY hiring others, but hey all companies do things different.

I've been there a little over a year. I've worked the same account, sometimes helping out on another when it was requested. Most of the time, I have ample work. But there are days I get less than 500 lines for the day.

I agree that communication from K is hit and miss, more miss than hit, and that can be really frustrating.

But I've worked a lot of different services and as they go, this one is okay. There isn't one that is perfect. This is why so many people have to make sure they work for two services to help keep production even instead of highs and lows.

I've been with Landmark for a little over a year too, and while there have been times I've run out of work, I look at things from a different perspective. Soon after leaving my last company (because of lack of work), it was bought out by M*Modal/MedQuist. Having started out with MedQuist years ago, I knew I had dodged a major bullet having gotten out when I did.

I don't currently have any complaints regarding Landmark. I just got put on an additional account, and right now the work is plentiful. Will that last? I don't know, but I do know that I'm happier with this company than I would be at one of the 2 big companies running the show right now.

I just have a feeling that if (God forbid)Landmark ever got bought out the people complaining about them today would have a different opinion about them in retrospect.

Is there a difficult dictator's pool? - Pook

I get only a handful of dictators even though there is a large amount on staff. The ones I get are all ESL. When I worked at MQ I was put in the difficult dictator's pool without being told until I resigned. Does this happen at Landmark? If so, I need more pay.

Was hired by this company for a large hospital new account. Owner said she was excited about hiring 40 MTs. There has never been more than a few jobs per day. It is definitely overflor and there is not a lot of that. Not enough work for even part time. Very vague about any further work. Am very disappointed. Owner does not have a grip on reality. ...

I find it interesting that this posted at all, as when I was there starting part-time to consider full-time, supposedly my acct was "terminated" without notice. Now they suddenly have work? I don't know....kind of puts the gut on alert IMO. Just my 2 cents. ...

I think I may have made a HUGE error. After not reading and researching enough on site here I sent Landmark Transcription my resume. It wasn't until it was sent I discovered some of the messages from last year saying they are always out of work !! Just what I or any of us would need - sign on with a company who has no work. I left Soft Script because of that. Good grief, I wish I had seen all the feedback earlier. Live and learn I guess. ...

Anyone else get an e-mail this morning that as of April 1, they have lost a big acct. and we will have no work ? Was basically told we could be put on a waiting list for other upcoming accounts, other platform. Landmark has been great for the most part until this recent notification of changes in our pay periods back to bimonthly. Is anyone else just a little upset that we only get one week's pay for the first check of Dec. instead of usual 2? We still only get the same check end of month for 1-15th. Some of us have bills & will only get half the check. I was told that no one else was too bothered by this. Guess I'm the only one who actually works for my payc ...
