Wondering if anyone has heard of or works for mobile assistant out of Wisconsin. Experiences?
They're actually in Iowa - mary

I worked for them for a while. Can't make much $$$. Mostly insurance agents and financial managers... lots of yapping about millions of dollars other people have. It's more depressing than Oncology, especially when you can't make more than minimum wage working for them. JMHO.

Was an MT for them for 8 years when they operated as US Transcription. Not too bad, not too great. The pay could use an upwards adjustment.

I saw that they encourage the use of templates, an unlimited amount of them, and then they assure the prospective client that does not count towards the lines in any way.
Like "QT" lines at Nuance.... - me

You get a template that is yellow in color and you get 1 cpl for that entire block - big pay cut. Not acceptable at least not to me.

was offered testing and position but the IT requirements, etc just did not justify the pay/position
I sent a resume to several jobs from the MT Jobs search and was sent a test for this company. Has anyone ever worked here before or is currently employed. If so, could you tell me about them. ...
Has anyone worked for Mobile Assistant, a company that has financial and insurance transcription? If so, what was your experience like with this company? Thanks. ...
Hi, I am being offered a job at Mobile Assistant, but they want me to update my operating system to Windows 8 and I cannot afford this, but if they are worth it, I might consider. Does anyone know anything about this company? are they worth it?
P.S. I am in desparate need of a job. ...
I am going to need mobile internet access to work. Sprint has a mobile hotspot for $50 a month that gives you 6 GB of data. I have no idea how many GB I use working. Has anyone ever used a hotspot for working and how did it turn out?
Thanks ...
Hello:
I have been given the opportunity to travel with my husband. I was wondering if there are other MT who travel with their spouses. What internet connections do you use?
We are looking into Mobile Hot spots, but I am afraid that with the large / high volume account I have, we will run into usage overages.
Please let me know what you all think.
Thanks! ...
I'm looking at a program in my area that is 9 months long to become a certified medical assistant. I do realize that MAs don't get paid much (about 14 an hour where I live which sounds awesome to me right about now as I'm a poor MT), and there really isn't any advancement in this type of job. But, I do want to do something hands-on in the medical field and this seems like a good way to go. My local hospital is phasing out all the LPNs and replacing them with ...
I am jumping back into the workforce and need to work using a mobile hotspot, preferably a prepaid one. Does anyone work using a mobile hotspot and if so, which one and how much is it? Is it even possible to use a mobile hotspot for transcription being you need so much data?
Thanks!

I am considering this. I am interested in biology and medicine, but do not want to be a nurse. Anyone know about physician assistant's courses, how rigorous they are, how expensive and how much time it takes to complete them? I am in the middle of getting my associates degree right now in general studies. The original plan is going for a masters in social work, but biology and medicine is holding my interest at this point, so wondering if I should switch majors.  ...
Does anyone work from a mobile broadband internet? Looking at land to build a home and that is only internet available through my cell phone, wireless modem - have always worked via cable - anyone know anything about this - maximum usage 5 GB a month. ...
I have heard and read of MTs moving out of this field into coding. But has anyone transitioned out of MT to med assisting or a medical records technician? Or does anyone know someone who did? I've been trying to research information and was wondering if it is better career and/or better salary that does not require too much schooling? ...
Was offered a job by this company but once they sent the email requesting all of my personal information, I felt uncomfortable sending my information to them. I know that is normal when you are hired for a position but the way they went about it, and the amount of information they required, copies of things, etc., plus wanting access to my computer immediately, but a work start date of more than a month away - made me just question sending my info to them, so I didn't. ...
I want to get off the Comcast merry-go-round.
Will netzero mobile broadband be do-able?
If not, can anyone suggest an alternative to using these big companies?
Thanks very much. ...
I used to have a Verizon USB for my internet backup and to use on trips. It was $60.00 a month. Does any one know of a cheaper USB/air card internet service for traveling with my laptop and working? Thanks. ...
Wondering if anyone has tried these Bose headphones and if they are worth the price and if they really make a big difference. Thinking of getting some. My work will reimburse me for them if I get them from my account they have set up for us for stuff like that up to a certain amount but I still want to make sure it's worth it for that much. I know Bose is a very good brand, as several years ago, we had a Bose stereo and the sound was so great. Just wondering about th ...
I'm considering getting out of transcription. I've been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I'm looking into either CRM or MA - CRM through AHIMA online or MA at local community college. I'm worried that CRM is too much of a "niche" job. There is a nearby cancer treatment center. However, I'm also worried that MA would not necessarily pay that much. I would appreciate any input/advice anyone cares to offer. ...
Did you see the job posting for TTS Administrative Assistant. Now how in the world is that a salary position? Don't these people know the IRS is checking out all these misclassifications, just to avoid paying OT? That's a huge red flag, an exempt position that is nothing more than a glorified secretary or clerical position. I worked for a company once that had to pay back wages for all the hours worked, as they misclassified an exempt position (salary) that shou ...
in March, will have it completed on May 1st and will be walking away from MT forever!!! For anyone who are thinking about leaving this field, I wish you all the best and for those who decide to stay, the same, I wish you all the best as well!! I am nervous but so excited to start something new! I just received my W2 and after working long hours, nights, weekends, giving up all of this time with my family, it earned me an incredible amount of $14,000. I have been told that ...
I have been in the field of Education for 23 yrs and have been an Administrator for the past 13. Due to the economy, schools would rather hire those with no experience and pay them less than seasoned veterans like myself. I have 2 in college and a 10yr old I adopted at birth so I am far from retirement. I am considering going back to school and getting certified as a Medical Assistant (which would include Phlebotomy and X-ray tech) and Medical Billing/Coding or Transcription. I am currently un ...
Okay, am I insane? The MD is starting a SOAP note of someone having a physical exam to make sure she is safe before receiving sedation for an MRI. The first sentence is: Patient is here for a pre-NSTA physical.
pre-NSTA???...has anyone heard of that before...done lots of research, but of course, the most hits I get are for the National Science Teachers Association...and I KNOW that is not it...ugh! Little help please! ...
After all of these many, many, many, many (okay, you get the point) years of transcribing, my wrists don't hurt, my back doesn't hurt and my neck is still okay, but the one thing that has me really bothered is my heel !!! It really bothers me lately and I have tried putting a small pillow, a thick piece of flannel and many other things under my heel to alleviate this bothersome pain, but to no avail. Has anyone got any suggestions or is there some type of heel cup or someth ...
I have tested a few times before on mttest.com, a site that several MT companies use for testing potential MT's, and recently received this piece of information: In sections that require you to type in the correct answer, typing a "Capital" letter in the first letter of your answer constitutes a wrong answer. I don't know if this is accross the board but thought it good info to share. Maybe everyone already knew this, and I can't even remember if I did that on previous tests but i ...
I just heard that the 2 largest MTSOs in the world are approaching virtually every large to medium-sized hospital and medical center in the country with an offer for 10 cpl for transcription. I'm not even sure who the 2 largest are, but I'm pretty sure one of them is CBay and both are offshore companies to be able to offer that rate. This is really concerning because this could lower the rates for U.S. MTs even MORE or could literally put all U.S. companies out of ...
