Anyone else at Acusis got lots of NJA this week? - Gettin Bored Waiting!

A job dribbles in here, a couple hours later a job dribbles in there.
[Sigh!] A person can only file their nails for just so long ------ !!
It isn't jst Acusis. I work for a small national. I usually - me

can get all the OT I want, but the last several weeks there is very little work. Some days I may get 3 reports. I get paid for downtime so it isn't as bad from me as the MT that only gets paid for their lines. I think with the holidays and summer and still the economy being a factor that there are going to be some slow times the next few weeks.
I'm thinking about going with a smaller national. - What company is this?

I work for a small national and my account is a large teaching hospital. Work has been very low the past couple of days because the new residents are getting orientation, etc. Don't worry, it will start coming back up after July 4. But yes, I do agree that the economy is hitting medicine hard.
Seems mostly afternoon slow down - NYMT

The work is being batched in blocks. Work in the morning, then when that runs out, nothing until evening. I don't like to swing my hours like that. I prefer to just work straight through.
I am actually looking for another PT job because I am worried about Acusis. If they lose an account, then all the rest of the work will be spread out even more.

Coming at this from another angle I think I can explain your lack of work. I am a RN (recently graduated and used to be transcriptionist). I have been called off on a regular basis due to low census. It is not just my hospital but many in the Cleveland area and on all types of floors. That is why I am back on these boards actually . . . trying to find part-time employment to help pay my bills!
OK - I'm a straight typing transcriptionist who wants to explore VR - seems most people hate it - I'd like to try it and see. My company doesn't offer it.
Are there any companies what have editing on Bayscribe currently?
What is the best VR platform to work on and which is the worst? (Don't know the difference in any of them)
Have heard of Speechmagic for Bayscribe (but who has it?)
eScription and Exeditor at Transtech (? where else) and how's that?

O.K. I have checked out the 3 schools that were recommended. Two of them require 45 wpm I am not that fast yet. How important is this? Approximately how much money can you earn in an 8 hr day doing office notes? When a company test you are they looking for a 45 wpm or better to hire you?
Thank you

I have noticed Accentus has been hiring pretty consistently, it seems, since maybe November. Anyone know what's up? MTs jumping ship or new accounts on the way? Just wondering, since they were bought out a year or so ago. I have been thinking of applying with them for a while but don't want to walk into the middle of a messy transition.
Thanks in advance! ...
Really enjoy transcribing Ops, but Ops have dribbled to few and far between and mostly brief reports on my accounts. Whatever happened to all the detailed op notes I used to get. Bored to tears with H&P, DS, and consults. TIA. ...
I spend enormous amounts of time doing clervical work for free at the beginning of a report..looking up doctor names that are not on the lists we have been given, figuring out which is the date of admit, consult, etc. If everything was programmed in and we just had to download a report and transcribe, we would be making a lot more and if the speech recognition would stop putting words down that the doctors are not saying so that we do not have to clean it all up we would have more time to ...
I have been on this report for 2 days now. I have managed to figure most of it out but I am really lost on one paragraph. After she dictates all the information under Physical Examination she goes into another paragraph describing more of the patient's symptoms. Is there supposed to be heading before that paragraph? Also, below is a few sentences from that paragraph that I just cant make out. Any help would be great. Thanks again.

1. Under procedure, doctor dictates BMP collagen was used. It is ok to abbreviate BMP or does it need to be expanded?
2. She was transferred to the prone position ______ (s/l an aquired) frame?

I know this is probably a mess. =( I am new at transcribing and really new at Op reports.&n ...
I have an interview with Transcend on Monday and have read conflicting stories on this board about whether or not Transcend MTs run out of work. Some you are saying you never run out; some say they hardly ever run out, and some say running out of work is a problem for them. What's the story on this? Also, how is the health insurance? Thanks for any info you have! ...
Mmodal is sorry they got rid of all those dreadfully horrible, worthless, and incompetent MTs who could not score 99.6% on an audit. The 20 or so who could are undoubtedly overwhelmed. Serves them right! ...
as they ramp up for summer. Having people off means we have to work harder and more OT because we've just been having such an easy time of it. Warnings and threatenings. All they know. Turn around times not being met? It's because we're so lazy. Hiring all the time? Still not enough staff; never enough staff. Cheery picking; never addressed. Rotten VR; never addressed. Never knowing what work, which doctors, or work types your're going to be doing anymore; never addressed. Co ...
I am glad to see that some kind of movement is finally happing regarding a decent minimum wage.
But something else I'd like to say is that I read somewhere (not here, but on the Huffington Post or somewhere) that Chelsea Clinton said she "does not care about money." Then the article went on to say that she and her husband Mark just bought an apartment in New York City around Gramercy Park for 10.5 MILLION DOLLARS.
Nice to not have to be able to care about money. We'd just l ...
Have you noticed more doctors are chewing and slurping while dictating lately? It just dawned on me today, probably some non-MT employees are treating the doctors to Christmas candy at their dictation stations. I used to see that a lot when I worked in hospitals. Ugh! ...
To all you wonderful MTs working and slaving your lives away, Happy MT Week. I appreciate you. I appreciate your kindness when I have a rant or a rave, when I'm at my wits end with the constant changing around of clients, client profiles and the never ending dings being thrown at me. I appreciate knowing that I am not alone in this struggle.
It is because of all of you, and only you MTs on this board that I manage to stay in this game. We are treated as less than second class citiz ...
Does anyone know when pay will be distributed this week? A big deal seemed to be made about getting payroll in quickly, so Im wondering if pay will be released before Thursday or if its just going to be Friday as usual. ...
Good grief. I did not change the way I edit. It so depends on how many commas they think you should have. Yes, I made an unusual (for me) mistake last week, but the rest of passing an audit is dumb luck of whether you get a realistic auditor or Ms English wannabe.
Everybody must be under pressure because of the cesspool as I see a lot of mistakes when I look up past reports to help with these mush mouths and accents. The time czar wants schedule changes, but I see no problems with turna ...
Does it now vary from week to week? I used to always know exactly what my PTO was and could calculate it but just noticed that it varied from one paycheck a couple of months back to this past week. How is this now figured? So confusing ...
about this company - tested, passed, need to make decision within 24 hours. I acted on impulse or maybe desperation when I applied. Really don't know the company. Can anyone offer anything please. TIA ...
All right, anyone work or have worked for this company in the past..........and have any feedback for me? I will be testing for them soon and want to know what I'm getting into. They look to be a bit better benefit wise than Softscript that I just interviewed with. Input appreciated, please. ...
I have seen some posts where people want to know about Acusis. I will tell you what I know and about my recent experience with them. The Human Resources person, Susanna Sovek,is located in Pennsylvania. My supervisor was located in California. The IT folks are in India and the CMT's are all over the place. You are given 3 weeks of "training" as per the "roadmap". The first week you are paid $180, the second $240 and the third $260 provided that you are meeting the criteria of 99% accu ...
I remember applying for a job with this company, but I do not remember the rate of pay or anything else. Does anyone know anything this company. Thanks in advance ...
Been there a year, always had loads of work. The past few weeks have been agonizingly slow. When I ask supervisor, I get told it's the nature of the beast, feast or famine in the industry. Something just doesn't seem right to me. Would appreciate any info. Thanks. ...
