Anybody on the Diskriter S-account thinking about unemployment? - anon4

Nobody feels able to talk about the subject, of course, just wondering as I sit here with no work, as per usual this past month. Are you all busy checking the want ads?

Which S account? SP in MI? If so, yes but i heard they lost it. sm - DRMT

I heard that they lost it to Keystrokes, but I am not sure if that is all of it or just part. Maybe the other part is going to India. My manager said that it will all be gone sooner or later but that DR is fighting it going to Keystrokes. I don't know exactly what that means because she would not elaborate, but I think that means I need to look for another job.

or at least the Keystrokes/India thing is news to me. The hospital is hoping with EPIC to be rid of us, according to the hospital website FAQs about EPIC. I think it will happen very soon.

in my 8-hour shift. In 4 years have not seen it this bad even with the holidays. Have used up my PTO. This next week or two will be interesting. I have not had a full 8-hour shift since the beginning of December or so.

EPIC was designed to downsize staffing. Created to eliminae the need for full staffing of MTs. More and more hospitals going to it all the time. Sooner or later it does eliminate the need of MTs. I don't have an issue with S, its DR that I have the issues with. I work this account and for DR. Not a happy MT and have not been for a while. And yes most definitely concerned about impending loss of job..... and what to do what to do.....`

With an extremely high bar set for MTs previously regarding schedule, promptness, etc., etc., DR's failure to offer any insight or information during this whole process has been very disappointing.

Unbelievable that they can string us on like this for a month. EPIC will eliminate our jobs and that is mentioned on the SP website for all to see and read. DR must thik we are really stupid. They are just waiting for us to quit so they don't have to lay us off and pay unemployment. IMO.

how many of us the account might be losing. He said then about half. Kinda looking like it could be most of us. I'm just astounded at the total loss of the work so quickly, can't believe it's just the holidays. Hoping they will just tell us what's up this next week. I've been applying locally for work the past few days. I swear, as much as I like what I do, I don't even want to transcribe anymore if I'm let go from DR.

They just seem like they would have a target on their back to me.

Who's next? I don't think there are very many small companies left. Soft Script? Transtech? Keystrokes? Medscribe?

So wish I would have seen this before I agreed to take a position with them. I too am sitting here with no work. Why would they hire for this account or any account knowing they will be eliminating jobs - I am not naive and know companies do this all the time but still it is aggravating wasting my time - grrr!

ClairSol is their stateside company for India. 90% of Transriter is done by India. Any work that comes through is overflow that India cannot handle. The company was sold a few years ago by the big CEO who is sitting on his fat payout in FL, and by the Mercedes driver in P'burgh. The rest of the staff there now in P'burgh (save for a few)have PHD's in deception and lies.

For what it's worth, I can tell you that 90% of DR's transcription is done in India. It is owned by a married Indian couple and the husband's brother. They divide their time between India and Pittsburgh.

I wonder if Sp knows yet? I spent 5 years at DR on that account and was let go as if I was garbage.....I can say that the contract between SP and DR is absolutely no offshoring!! If they knew, what would happen? DR is out to eliminate all domestic employees and I think SP is one of the only reasons they have kept any of the domestic - that and their need for an American voice for the clients.

As a long time MT at DR, I find the undoing of Diskriter to be most upsetting. Anyone else have any thoughts? People have left in great numbers and continue to leave. Global has taken all but a small amount of our work in TR....and those in management could care less about us. I am moving on, but just wondered if others have had this experience? ...

Stay away from Diskriter who has an ad on the Job Seeker's Board. I worked for them and it was THE worst experience of my life. It is a very big hospital they are referring to with lots and lots of facilities associated with it and lots and lots of account specifics. You need to have a certified degree as a rocket scientist to work for them. They chastise you and make you feel worthless. The QA will knock you down, and then you have to waste YOUR time to prove them wrong, which they always ...
