WHAT is going on with DISKRITER - Serious MT
Posted: Oct 20, 2011
Anybody know reasons for the strangeness lately? Seriously... things are a bit well unusual... maybe it is me...
???? What are you referring to? - Can you elaborate?

Does this mean things are bad, good or indifferent? I did not understand the post.
It's not you! Something is definitely up. What have you experienced? - SM

My paycheck was late. Should have been Friday and didn't deposit to my account until Monday. When I tried to find out where my pay was on Friday, I emailed and emailed and emailed everyone from payroll to the CEO and got absolutely no response. I called the corporate office and got absolutely no answer, not just in payroll, but in human resources, even when just pressing "0" to talk to the receptionist. Sat on hold in an automated phone system for 40 minutes with the recording tell me I was in position number one and my estimated wait time was 1 minute --- for 40 minutes! This was during business hours, 8 to 5 p.m.
Monday morning I got an email from payroll saying my money should be in my account, which it was, but no explanation as to what happened.
Mine was deposited on time, I think, but - DRMT too

I noticed when I received my pay stub, it looks like they switched payroll preparers. It was definitely different. So maybe that's why.
BTW, I didn't check my bank deposit until Monday, it was dated the 14th, but not sure when exactly it got there.
Everything seems the same to me... but I pretty much keep to myself and don't really correspond with anyone unless it's necessary, which is very rare. I'm happy, happy there, so I hope all is fine on their end. Would appreciate any info if you have it!
Email if you want. Thanks!
My direct deposit being late irritated me, but what irritated me more - SM

was the fact that I couldn't get ahold of an actual person during business hours on a payday Friday. If someone, ANYONE, would have acknowledge my many emails or voicemails and simply said "we changed payroll companies" or "we are looking into it." Maybe apologize for the inconvenience.
But I got no explanation. Had to fret all weekend along and would have incurred bank fees for insufficient funds when certain bills tried to automatically deduct from account and not enough money was there. Thankfully I bank with a local small bank and they worked with me when I explained my situation, BUT I'm still rather upset at how unprofessional the entire situation was handled.
Am I overreacting?
OMG...no...you are soooooooooooo totally not overracting!!! - lilgexMT

I had the same lack of communication from DR (and the company I had moved on to after I quit DR...and have since moved on to an MTSO that ACTUALLY communicates and seems to VALUE their staff!!!). Granted, my lack of communication beef with them was not over payroll...but just knowing that someone was out there to answer your questions and be available would've been nice!!! I can't even count the number of times I NEVER received a response on my feedback, spec clarification questions, and the list goes on and on and on and on.
You NEED your paycheck!!! Ya know, if the "higher-ups" didn't receive their paychecks, you know as well as I do that Holy-H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks would've been raised and they would've gotten their checks in a HEARTBEAT!!!
I wish you the best of luck with getting ANY kind of info outta this lot :/

When there is no communication from HR that is strange even for DR. And with the payroll thing and the check back for work and OOW for so many this week, sounding like a strange situation...is this a pattern which precedes something... anybody get a strange feeling or is this just nobody knowing anything over there and we should proceed as usual typing/editing with no concern... don't want to make rash conclusion if it's just the place is out of sync at the moment...and that's it.
Well, judging from experience they are either going bankrupt or are for sale. nm - Speaketh the Truth
Wow..This is how really bad rumors get started. - Time for a Chill Pill

Why does every assume the worst when apparently it was just a payroll issue and possibly switching payroll companies. They next thing you know people say they are on the verge of BK. This is crazy.
Rumors start when companies don't answer their phones or return emails. - SM

If they would simply address the situation, answer their phone, offer some sort of explanation. Instead we are left to guess.

If the company would just communicate SOMETHING (even though it would probably be a LIE), that would help. But silence is deafening.
And you can keep your head in the sand if you want and ignore the obvious patterns that occur when companies are going bankrupt or are for sale but it is better to be prepared. Weren't you a Girl (or Boy) Scout? Be prepared, is all I am saying.

OK I have to ask. I am scared b/c I don't want anyone to find out I am posting here. But has anyone been running out of work all the time and no one answering. I sit hours all day and night and last week was worse than ever. I am worried b/c I need my health insurance and a job and I can't afford it. If no one says anything I will know it is just me and worry even more. But I am glad I got this off my chest.
File for unemployment. I recently got 15 hours worth when - no work on primary/secondary acct. n/m
I have been happily working for Diskriter for the past few years, and I just got an amazon gift card for the holidays! They thanked me for my hard work this year. I LOVE this company; it is nice to know that I am appreciated!!! What a nice touch. Happy Holidays, all! ...
What can anyone tell me about Diskriter? How is the QA dept from both the QAS point of view and the MT point of view. How is the company to work for? Good and bad ? ...
I'm going to apply with this company and would like to know how those of you who have been there a while like the company. Total honesty please. How often do you run out? Do they communicate well?
I hate having to switch companies, but the work load at Webmedx has me extremely worried. I just want to work. I am a faithful employee and look forward to each anniversary with one company, long term, but I can't do this anymore. ...
I am considering applying to Diskriter. I just received an email with some questions. I am wanting to know any info on the criminal background check. I had some hot checks about 7-10 years ago and paid them off then, but am worried about this background check and also my credit is not that great. Could someone please clue me in? Also, do you need to take a picture of your desk/work area to work there? I have a alcove in my bedroom where I do my work since I live in an apartment. I ...
Does anyone here work for or know anything about Diskriter out of Pennsylvania? I'm thinking about applying with them, and I don't see any previous comments about them. ...
As a long time MT at DR, I find the undoing of Diskriter to be most upsetting. Anyone else have any thoughts? People have left in great numbers and continue to leave. Global has taken all but a small amount of our work in TR....and those in management could care less about us. I am moving on, but just wondered if others have had this experience? ...
More people laid off today and people still being lied to...outright lies. I just cannot wrap my head around the whole idea that the people in management are telling the lies and executing them daily, yet saying otherwise when asked...or giving some canned response that is a total bluff. Sad, Sad, Sad!!!! AS they say...karma is a ______
Good luck to all of those who have suffered and lost their jobs under this playskool regime. And to India....You may type it for 1 cpl and the ...
Have applied at DR, read all the negative stuff on here, is there anything good? Bad situation at present job, hate to jump from the frying pan into the fire, but the pay offered at DR is better. Can anybody help me? ...
Stay away from Diskriter who has an ad on the Job Seeker's Board. I worked for them and it was THE worst experience of my life. It is a very big hospital they are referring to with lots and lots of facilities associated with it and lots and lots of account specifics. You need to have a certified degree as a rocket scientist to work for them. They chastise you and make you feel worthless. The QA will knock you down, and then you have to waste YOUR time to prove them wrong, which they always ...
The S-account is fully functional and also going with another vendor as of next week and we got, what was it, 5 days' notice? We knew it was coming but thanks much (not), Diskriter, for giving us that notice, it being holiday time and all. Oh well, on to plan B. Good luck coworkers. It's my last night tonight, probably my last night transcribing after 38 years. Can't wait to pack up this company PC and get rid of it. I could really party if ...
Thinking of applying with Diskriter for possible radiology or acute care position. Looking to switch from IC to employee status. I would like to know how the work load is, starting pay, incentives, and benefits package. Thanks for any information you can provide. ...
Anyone have any info on Diskriter or been contacted? I rec'd a call but we missed each other. Anything, good or bad. I am employed right now, but always on the lookout for something else or perhaps something in addition to what I have. Also if you did apply and tested, how was that. Please feel free to e-mail me, if your experience cannot be posted on this board! Thanks! ...
Thank you in advance! By the way - anyone work there? From what I have learned is an MT, depending on the position you are hired, may get benefits from the Diskriter or benefits from the hospital in which you are assigned? Is that a good gig? Hospital benefits rock! I miss them! ...
I am offered a position as a QC editor at Nuance. I typically have done hourly QA work, so this is a little difference because it's paid on production. Does anyone work in this position or have you and how is it? Can you make a decent living?
Alternatively, I was offered a position as an MT at Diskriter but that's a step down from my usual QA work. Any input on that job?
Thanks! ...
What is the good, the bad, and the ugly with Diskriter? I am looking for information about pay, benefits, how strict they are when it comes to schedules, management, available work, etc. If you are new there, how was the interview? Was there a lot of rah-rah gibberish about how great they are to reel you in or was it professional and straight to the point? According to what I read in the archives they send you a computer, which is a bonus!
I have been with my present company for 8 ...
